For those undergoing dental procedures with orthopedic implants, I came across a note on the American Dental Association site stating that it’s best for the orthopedic surgeon to recommend the antibiotic prophylaxis regimen.

Following this logic, it might be wise to have the antibiotic prophylaxis guided by our penile implant surgeon, who can prescribe after weighing the individual risks and benefits...

Just a thought...

I have a 700 lgx, a 800 aus and a recent hip replacement. have to take 800 mg amoxacylin 2 hours before even a teeth cleaning. it is standard practice. inform your dentist before hand. He/ she can prescribe it for you. Be proactive and dont take chances.
