Pus(?) at incision site

Postby Watcher1960 » Thu Aug 15, 2024 11:40 am

Ten days in from penoscrotal malleable implant. Swelling was horrendous. Lot of urination issues. Thought was turning corner yesterday. Urination a little better and swelling definitely subsiding. Then last night noticed what could possibly be pus on incision site. Not a lot and some was even dry and crusty. Not sure if pus from an infection or some other normal sign of healing. Yesterday was last day on antibiotics. Wiped it off this morning and none seems to be seeping back out. Was putting neosporin on incision. Other than the possible pus and the urination issues are there any other symptoms. Scared to death. Going in to see surgeon this afternoon.

If you notice any pus discharge, it’s wise to consult your surgeon for your peace of mind.

I think you will be fine.

Thanks. Surgeon thinks at this point I’m okay. Believes what was there was “exudate”. Is extending my antibiotics. Hopefully he is correct.

Good to know. With a malleable, the risk of infection is very low. Fewer parts, less surface area for contamination and formation of biofilms, all work in your favor.

I have a mallabble had the same issue last surgery .. G/F kept close eye on think it was just fluid where the glue had opened up ... last a week or so got less and less each day. As long as your dr. is involved and is not concerned you should be ok ..

Pic included. Raised area directly under incision site concerning me. Waiting on a doctor appointment. Afraid it’s an abscess.

nothing to worry, that's just some wound fluid (exudate). Just keep it dry with a little gauze and it'll be fine in few days.
