The Future of ED

Postby secondchance » Thu Aug 01, 2024 8:41 am

I know there's a lot on here about potential regenerative therapies to cure and reverse erectile dysfunction. Wouldn't that be nice :D From a patient's perspective relying on Dr. Google it seems Stem cells and gene therapy might become a God send, hopefully sooner than later. If you have any insight on the matter please share. My dad's best friend is a urologist so I asked my dad to ask him about regenerative treatments for ED and how long he thinks it will be for them to be approved and used to treat ED. I will keep you all posted. In the meantime please share what you know. THANKS

I'm primarly interested in neurogenic ED since this is what I suffer from, so I'll share possible treatments for this type of ED. Unfortunately I don't know a thing on treating hormonal, psychogenic or vascular ED, apart from that there's this device in the makings called Implantica PotencyFlow.

So, as for neurogenic ED there's WST-057 coming that's meant to regenerate the nerves. It's now in between phase 2 and 3 and unfortunately they lack funds for the latter. But the formula is on the Internet and some people are cooking it up for their own purpose (small fiber neuropathy, sensation loss etc.). This is a topical solution, in our cases it'd be applied directly to the penis. That's one thing that attacks the root of the problem and doesn't only alleviate the symptoms, like PDE5s do.
Speaking of PDE5s, there's new PDE5 in the trials which is called Simmerafil (TPN171H). Another oral treatment would be CF602:
https://www.morningstar.com/news/business-wire/20240506802750/can-fite-received-notice-of-allowance-from-the-european-patent-office-for-the-treatment-of-erectile-dysfunction-with-cf602
This is still in pre-clinical stage.
Another interesting treatment, especially for post-RP patients would be Comphya Caverstim. This is a neurostimulating device, all reversible, with VERY promising results.

We can't also forget there are things we can use right now of which abilities we might not be aware. For an example, there's gonna be a trial for using TENS device to treat ED, under guidance somewhere in Switzerland. Many things you can discover scrolling through active / recruiting clinical trials (https://www.clinicaltrials.gov)

And then there are improvements to penile implants and surgical techniques.

Hence why I think the future is bright for us :D

This CF602 seems to be very interesting, a new technology. Lets hope it comes to market sooner than later. Have been reading about Israeli pharma breakthroughs and some of them will be breathtaking. Such as eliminating the need for Colonoscopy's (I've had at least 7) and a bunch of other technologys that will change the face of medicine.

Hope I can live to see some of this come to fruition.

Hello

excuse me
It’s because my English isn’t very good.
I use google translate
there are 2 impotence drugs in phase 2
That of biozeus comes from spider venom
It should be marketed in 2025 or 2026.
It is a gel applied to the genital organ.
For initiator pharma the drug is called iped2015 or pudafensin.
Oral medication probably marketed around 2028

There's os many causes for ED...
Of course, the future is bright for everything, given enough time. But i am afraid we'd all be dead before anything MAJOR changes, since this type of medicine isn't exactly "main stream", like say... dubious RNA flu vaccines or diabetes treatment are. So there's little research done, and little investment in the field.

I am still holding off from getting an implant tho, in hopes something new and less invasive/definitive comes my way, even tho the chances are slim.
40 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.

Botox seems promising.
