Just started Trimix

Postby jayjayc » Tue Aug 13, 2024 5:53 pm

Hello gents, I'm 41 and had psychogenic ED ever since first became sexually active at age 19.

Physically I'm in decent shape Testosterone about 500 and blood work pretty much all in normal reference range. Physically everything works fine ie by myself or with long term partners, generally no problems. But with new partners it's always been hit or miss. Thankfully mostly hits but the few times things didnt work really adds up to psychogenic ED over time.

Started Cialis and/or Viagra as needed for about a decade now...worked great except the times when its not enough to overcome psychogenic ED. I often drink quite a bit to overcome performance anxiety but then of course physically alcohol doesn't help.

I finally just got Trimix because I thought it would be a surefire way to get erection. Doc recommended I start at 10 unit: I was scared so just did 8 first time and, whilst it took 20 minutes to work, I was super sore and super hard for 2+ hours. Sex was actually not enjoyable like penis wanted to explode...didn't feel natural at all...but at least mentally felt great because it got me hard without any stimulation and despite the mental stress and physical discomfort of the injection. Took Benadryl around 2.5 hr mark and it was still up and down until about 4 hrs... I was scared of having to go ER.

Second time I tapered down to 6 units and on my left side...didn't work at all except still got very sore (not quite as much as first time). I don't know if I missed injection with my left hand (I'm right handed) or because the dose was too low. Either way, both injections were fairly unpleasant.

My plan was only to use Trimix very occasionally in high stress/ new partner situations and then not use anything or just PDE5 for long term partners but still worried about consistency of Trimix injections since it seems so technique sensitive. Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated...I'm still going to keep practicing dosage/technique at most twice a week hopefully I can get consistent results. If we are to switch sides, how do you guys manage to do on your non-dominant hand's side?

Thank you all,

Welcome to the forum.

I do fine on my non-dominant side. It was awkward at first but it gets easier with practice.

You likely had a mis on your second try. Read as many of the threads in the injection sub-forum as you can stand. Remember, never force the plunger when you experience resistance. When you experience plunger resistance adjust your depth. Try both deeper and shallower until the plunger depresses easily.

It can cause ache or pain if injected into the wrong tissues. Many guys initially get pain when using a mix containing alprostadil (PGE1). In many of these men the alprostadil pain reduces and eventually goes away with continued use. I'm one of those guys. Some men can never tolerate alprostadil and have to use a mix that doesn't contain it.

I ended up using an auto injector .. it poked the needle in and then you pushed the plunger and controlled how fast the mix went in .. I also had better luck at 9 and 3 position than the 10 and 2 position.

I had to buy the Autoinjector but dumped it after about 13 usages, I got a little high, forgot how the mechanism worked. LOL. So determined to get laid I pulled the needle out and did it manually. Easy to do I found. Now I inject without it but for Jayjayc it may be the way to go. To at least start the process.

I second the rec for an auto injector. It was a game changer. Also best to use when semi erect.

Is there a preferred auto injector from the many available ? I only ask because I’m not really comfortable with manual injecting, although I’ve done it before. It just freaks me out when I stick a needle in my penis. When I first started injecting Bimix and it sort of worked but I bent the needle which caused my anxiety to spike, so next time I want to eliminate that potential problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I used the Autoinject 2. Does the entire injection. Takes the needle panic away. Have to use a VED to pump up before as the needle does come in with some force.
Now I do it buy hand and actually love the process. Boy have I changed.
