What’s the medical rationale behind a urologist advising the use of Trimix only 3 times a week or only once every 48 hours?

i dont know either but questioned it for a long time. that was until my wife and I wanted more. since then i have injected 2,3,4,5,6 and my personal record of 7 days in a row. the shortest amount of time in between shots was 11 hours and most were at least 24 hours in between injections. yes, it does feel like my dick is a pin cushion but i have not felt any lingering pain or had any ER visits. we tried not to do it that often but the sex is too good to ever tell my wife "no". it has kinda settled to 3-4 days a week in a row. been doin that for almost a year with no ill effects so far. just my experience.

That's great to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience. Priapism prevention makes sense, but is this recommended frequency mainly to prevent scarring or fibrosis? If we rotate injection sites, I’m curious why this rule is even necessary. Are you aware of any imaging that can monitor the health of tissues affected by the injections?

I've injected daily for a month with no noticeable problems. I do heal quickly from any injuries, so that may be a factor. I also range from 3 units to 70 units depending on 'plans' for the moment. I have also injected three times in one day while trying cock rings (which haven't helped yet).

Some things seem to be "just in case" or extreme precaution... Another thing that's told injection users is not to use injections if their partner is pregnant. Why? Because the medication inside is actually used to induce labor in women that need it.
Is there ANY chance for any meaningful amount of medication to "leak" out of your dick into your wife while fucking her... i HIGHLY doubt it. Maybe it's possible that you bleed a little bit from the injection site while inside her, and that blood can carry a tiny bit of medication in it... i guess that's theoretically possible, but seems so absurd that... yeah, never respected that with my wife.
As for the number of uses / week, i believe it's for two main reasons :
1. Avoid priapism or just too prolonged erections. I guess that only matters for people with very strong reaction to the injections. I've read people saying they get 4-5h erections with a single injection. That seems insane to me, never ever had anything like that even at the very start of my treatment, but i believe people here tend to be honest, so there's that. Imagine having 2-3 episodes of 5h erections in 24 hours - could be dangerous for the penis, even if it's not "priapism" per se.
2. General bruising and tissue damage caused by the injections - if there's no limit, some people could "go crazy" on it and inject every time they see their partner's pussy (which in my case is multiple times per day lol). Even if you alter sites properly, an injection IS invasive and there can be a bit of internal bleeding associated... so it takes a bit to heal.
All that said, my urologue has changed my prescription for Edex to 3/week for quite a while now and to be honest we've stopped following strict rules all together. Life is so random that sometimes we have to spend a whole week or 10 days without any sex, then we would fuck twice a day for a few days in a row. *shrug* My take is, if you don't ABUSE yourself, you'll be fine even if you go "overboard" sometimes. Use your brain i guess ^^

40 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.
