Update at Nearly 7 Months

Postby bp1111 » Tue Sep 10, 2024 1:55 pm

I wanted to provide an update now that I am past the six month mark and hope it is useful for those contemplating an implant and those in the early stages of recovery. I also want to share positive news since we tend to hear more about problems and all is going great for me. Things aren't perfect, and there were some bumps along the way, but I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I quickly gained my length back with cycling and I am now consistently 7.25" and 7.5"+ with good engorgement. I wasn't really reaching that immediately prior to surgery even with pills or injections. My girth bounced back quickly as well, but I feel like I had a little more in the past. I always thought I was a little over 5", but I seem to be stuck right at 5". I am still cycling, although not as diligently, so we will see what happens. Nothing to be upset about with regard to size and it gets hard every time.

I am also very satisfied with my flaccid penis. It looks fine in all situations. Completely deflated it doesn't necessarily look or feel perfect, but I can put a couple of pumps in it and it looks and feels great. Yes there are dog ears, which I feel would be the case with any implant when it hangs down, but they are pretty much hidden near the base and do not cause me any issues at this point. I was a major grower in the past and now it is nearly 7" soft, but since I initially deflated after surgery I have not had any concerns about the bulge or being a shower. At this point it is also quite comfortable and has just become a part of me. I have also been to clothing optional places and have been very comfortable with the way my flaccid looks, i.e. it doesn't look deformed or like a semi (typically with a few pumps). Happy to be a shower and no worries about shrinkage. I may have taken more notice of it the last few months than in the past, but you quickly realize that all dicks hang differently, so no need to worry too much about how yours hangs.

The best part is the sex has been great and there is no worry about performance. My partner, who was involved during the decision process, surgery and recovery, thinks it's great too. She loves it when it's pumped up to the max and loves taking the whole thing. I have learned not to pump all the way during oral if I want it deep throated fully. It's not necessarily the size, but it can be too hard, and you need to dial it down some. We also participate in the lifestyle together so I have been with several other women as well and all have enjoyed it. I have not told any other women about the implant and I have been discrete when inflating without any problems, although I have rushed and later felt I had not pumped it up as much as I would have liked and needed to sneak in a few more pumps. Some of the other women have played with my balls and may have felt something different, but no one has mentioned it or raised any concerns. I have also received some positive comments about how hard I still am even after we're done.

I have felt sore after having too much sex or we have been too rough, but as the doctor stated at my last appointment if you have rough or too much sex you can be sore whether you have an implant or not. At times it has even created a little swelling of my scrotum, but nothing a little time or a couple of Advil didn't take care of. I do have a tube that protrudes in the middle of my sack a bit that likely wasn't trimmed quite enough, which is one of the few imperfections that likely adds to my soreness, although that has improved over time as my body has gotten used to it. Also certain positions put some pressure on the reservoir area and the tubing going to the pump which can be sore if we are too rough, but that also seems to be improving.

Although I have not gotten back into my exercise routine fully, which I blame mainly on the Houston heat and my lack of motivation, I have not had any issues with any activities recently. My main exercise has been road cycling and when I initially got back on the bike at about seven weeks it was too soon, but I haven't had any issues recently. I did change up my saddle/seat, but ended up going back to my original saddle which now feels fine. I just need to get back to it so I can get back in shape. Don't want a fat pad hiding any my new dick.

I am attaching some pictures that are hopefully helpful for those in the decision process. I know I wanted to know what the finished product looked like when I was making my decision and really didn't find as many as I would have liked too. I think I may need to add to follow up posts as you are limited in the size.

Happy to answer any questions and also happy to do a show and tell for anyone in the Houston Area.

It looks awesome, congrats on the decision! I will hopefully soon be part of the brotherhood. You say you have suffered from ED for 9 years. Would you have done the surgery before if you could go back in time, or were you happy with pills/injections? I am turning 30 this month and have suffered from ED since I was 15. I am more or less set on getting an implant, but at the same time, I hear many people on this forum saying that it is better to wait when you are as young as I am considering the number of revision surgeries I will have to go through. May I ask what is your take on this?

I wish I had done it a little sooner, but only like a year or two. There was a downward progression over those years, but I was able to maintain a good sex life most of that time, although pills and injections were becoming less reliable and a major hassle as time went on. I also feel the injections likely caused some scaring or fibrosis that the doctor ran into during surgery. If I knew about the venous leak and was sure things wouldn’t improve I’d have likely made the decision sooner. Knowing what I know now, after going through the surgery and being where I am today, I would not let age be a determining factor for me. It’s a tough decision, but if things aren’t working up to the standard desired and you know they won’t get any better then personally I would take the steps to fix it. If things were acceptable I’d be more inclined to put them off. I know that I will likely need to have multiple revisions considering my age and I am not concerned about it, but I certainly hope I can get a lot of mileage out each device.

I neglected to mention the real key to it is finding a great high volume surgeon. Less likelihood for problems and more likely for greater longevity.

Thanks for your wise words. The urologist that I have been seeing for the past two years (Dr. Sebastien Beley in Paris) is what one would consider a high-volume surgeon. He does around 50-100 implants/year, and has been doing implant surgery for decades now. I hope to be able to get my surgery in the next few months but man this is stressful.

How long did your priapism last and if they should have drained you? I just had priapism

hi bp, do you think your flaccid is equal length to your erect now with implant? or does it grow while pumping
LGX 18 + 1, 90 cc. 2023/12
Pre-OP VED length: 5.5". Post-OP: 4". At 3 months post-op: 5".
Cycling with a lot of pain for the first 5 months, now improving
If you have a motorcycle or a bike stop using it (ED with motorcycle accident).
