Does the HRT for women cause them to menstruate again?
When my wife took it, she continued to have her period even at age 60.
She is 83 now but seems to be in her 60s.

She stopped taking it and seemed to be surprised when her periods stopped.

Right now, she has found that she can enjoy sex, and has no problem with tissue thinness.
She doesn't orgasm noticeably but does make involuntary sounds that I can assume are due to pleasure.
We have a seduction routine every morning except on golf days, but they don't last long.
She'd never admit it, but she likes to feel my dick.

She's not totally dry, but I use a tiny amount of lubricant to get in.
86 years
Inject testosterone weekly.
Implant on 1/22/19 by Dr Avila.
Scrotal, hor. incision just over 1"
18cm AMS 700 CX, 3.5cm RTE 100cc res
Gleason 6 prostate cancer. Monitoring it for now.
Update: On my last biopsies the cancer wasn't found.

Quick addition of our experience…

I’m 58, wife 60.. I’ve had Ed since 35. Viagra never really worked, but still wanted physical contact with wife. Wife’s own menopause journey started around 50 but due to my Ed I didn’t really realize her perimenopause journey with low libido started way earlier… I just chalked it up to her being frustrated with me. She hated to get intimate… I finally threw the implant convo into the mix and said if I go through with this, I’m banging someone… she understood the surgery to be gnarly so completely understood my stance that if I got the implant I was gonna use it somewhere. She began talking with coworkers about Biote HRT… she’s one month past pellet insertion (test/estrogen) and I’m three months past implant…. Let’s just say our friends who came up to our vacation cabin this weekend, didn’t get much sleep cause the walls are thin!

My wife is actually so driven now that I asked her if she was ok with the result of the pellets or did it concern her that she was looking at me like a Lioness looks at a snack on the savanna.
57 yo, 20+ years of ED.. no actual diagnosis, just doesn’t work or respond to pills, shots or VED… implanted 1/31/24… 24cm -RTE, AMS 700 CX… slight scarring left corpora. DM2, A1C 6.4, HBP, Hyperlipidemia, 280lbs, 5’11”. Basically Shrek.

Island boy,
We went through pretty much the same experience as you, except we’re both 79. She had serious vaginal dryness, and sex became painful for her, she was under doctors care and trying different things to alleviate it. One doctor finally sent her to a compounding pharmacy that got us the winning recipe. Since we couldn’t have sex, I just gave up and took matters in my own hands,
Then comes 2019 and a diagnosis of prostate cancer. I chose radiation, but when all was said and done, I have E.D.!!!!! DAMMIT.
So here we are with a vagina back in action, and a dick that won’t erect! Darn it!
Tried pill, injection, V.E.D. Nothing worked as expected, so the next step was implant, four years almost to the day of my last radiation treatment. I’m seven months into my new implant and enjoying my wife, my life and my dick, IMMENSELY!
I had some wonderful conversations with other gentlemen, who graciously came to my aid with advice, with a couple who went beyond the call of duty and agreed to show tell and touch session. They pushed me over the edge to go through with the surgery, thankfully.
I’m prepared to return the favor to anyone who wants to have that experience.
Leave a message and I’ll get back to you happily.

I have been struggling with ed for a long time ...pills and injections have become less and less effective so I have finally made the decision to get the implant in a few weeks... which led us to the discussion of great your going to be hard whenever but I (she) has no desire for sex so....

My wife recently began seeing a specialist to have her hormone levels checked after a friend suggested her specialist to her.We were both pretty skeptical about it but she decided to go ahead and go through the process,They were extremely thourough in her evaluation...blood tests , medical survey for last 20 years and just how she was feeling generally and sexually. As with many long time couples our sex had fallen off the charts we struggled together to keep it going as much as possible but it seemed like it was getting to the point of just stopping completely and having a sexless marriage.
The specialist decided she wanted to start a course of implanting hormone pellets in her butt and an oral course as well.
It has been several months now and to our complete amazement it has made an INCREDIBLE difference.
she is literally like she's in her 40's again, she is in the mood gets aroused WET,swollen, cumming again !
She says she sleeps better and her mood is just better in general.
This has made me even more excited for my implant surgery in a few weeks. I honestly never ever dreamed things could be this good again. Who knows how long this will last we are mid 60's but we're going ride it out as long as we can !
Hope maybe this will give other couples hope that are stuggling with the same things we have.

Islanderboy58, I had already gotten my implant in 2021 and I would always have to ask for sex or we would schedule it, so that at least she would be thinking about it and get somewhat aroused.
One of my Frank Talk friends shared with me about his wife’s experience with HRT, so I talked to my wife about it and she agreed to get tested. The first provider she went to wasn’t that great even though it was a nice place, she used testosterone cream and estrogen cream and it was a pain for her to remember when to apply it and she couldn’t exercise or take showers at certain times.
We switched providers and she liked them a lot better, she went with the pellet this time so that she didn’t have to worry about applying it.
I’m telling you, it wasn’t long before she was hornier than when we first got married.
In our 36 years of marriage we had never had sex more than twice in a week and recently we had sex 5 or 6 times in one week. I love it.
She gets super wet now when we start foreplay and we don’t have to use lube.
She is getting her second pellet in a week or so, so I’m preparing my Bionic Dick for the next go round.
It’s been great. My wife calls it; her body has been awoken. lol

My wife started pre menopause in 2017 in conjunction with my RALP and resultant ED. Now, won't even discuss HRT.

My wife and I are in our early seventies and both have incredible libido. We love sex and pleasing each other, so no problem with desire. She has difficulty achieving orgasm, despite manual and oral stimulation….. still we enjoy sex several time a week. She spoke to here gynecologist about sensitive issues and she basically told her that hormone therapy was not recommended at her age. I’m not buying that , and as much as we love sex, I would love for my wife to experience orgasms and sensations that she had 20 years ago. Any thoughts on what type of specialist she could see ?

HRT is not clinically warranted beyond age 60 for postmenopausal women. From a clinical perspective it's use is for maintaining bone density, so many docs are not aware of it's other possibilities with respect to quality of life. Also, that limits insurance coverage for the actual prescription.

She would would have to shop around and find a provider who has experience with HRT for other quality of life issues. These seem to be rare in gynecology, endocrinologists and primary care physicians. My spouse does get vaginal topical locally acting estrogen from her primary care doc to keep her vaginal area supple. It does nothing for her blood levels though.

There are local aging/quality of life physicians who practices deal almost exclusively with this in every major city. (Biote HRT is a pellet insertion product that comes to mind). These practices make a majority of their income prescribing HRT so its almost guaranteed.

Another alternative is to find clinics that have an online presence such as Defy Medical (https://www.defymedical.com/services/hormone-therapy/). Here is a list: https://www.setforset.com/blogs/news/be ... rt-clinics.
Good luck in your search.

Just curious, is your partner onboard with this effort?
