As Donkeykong says, I can often inject painlessly with 31g because it's thin enough to go between nerves. I start by moving around prodding and when I find a pain-free spot, I start pushing in. If I hit a lower-down nerve, I pull out and start over. But my corpora are not nice and uniform and parallel like the medical diagrams, so I need a 1/2in=13mm needle at a few locations, and the 30g inevitably hits a nerve or two.
Broadly speaking, I think thin penises can use 5/16in=8mm(31g) and thick penises need 1/2in=13mm(30g) at most locations.
Agree with cangetit's advice.
