Health Insurance Coverage
If anyone here has had their Penile Implantation surgery covered by a commercial (non-government) health insurance plan in the US, could you please share the name of your insurance provider? I want to make the right choice for the upcoming year.

Thank you! Is BCBS good with processing revision claims as well?

Re: Health Insurance Coverage
I had no issues with the revision, paid my deductible and the rest was taken care of. I did check with my surgeon/ urologist before hand though. Didn't want a $60k surprise. Next July is Medicare, sounds like by what I have read on FT folks on Medicare have no issues getting a implant done.. hopefully won't need another.

Thank you Wilsonmill. Yes, hopefully you won't need another one and yes, Medicare is really the best for this procedure!

Re: Health Insurance Coverage
Anthem BC/BS and United covered my implants with only minimal headache.
Ambetter would not cover at all.
I currently have Cigna, which I have heard is really difficult to get to pay and I've heard the same about Aetna. Dr Hakky confirmed the same.
The following message is from Hakky when I asked...

Hi ViaSwiss
I would avoid AETNA and CIgna. They like to not pay. Safe insurance BCBS and United and Humana.

This is great information. Much appreciated.
So, BCBS, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare, correct? Is "Safe Insurance" the fourth company, or was he suggesting these are safer options?
