Sorry to hear about what you're going through. It's good that you've seen a urologist and have a treatment plan.

Assessment of Curvature: It's surprising that your urologist didn't measure the curvature. You might want to discuss this or seek a second opinion.

Verapamil Injections: This is a common and often effective treatment. The process can take several months and requires patience.

Xiaflex: It's unfortunate that it's not available in Canada, but Verapamil is a good alternative.

Changes in Size: The psychological aspect is important. Openly discuss your feelings with your wife. Support from a counselor or group can be helpful. a sex therapist for techniques and positions that might help.

Additional Methods: Consider using traction devices and supplements. Discuss these with your urologist.

Sexual Function: It's good that you can still have sex. Consult a sex therapist for techniques and positions that might help.

With the right treatment and support, your condition can improve. Don't hesitate to seek out the resources and information you need.

I received a call from my urologist's office and am scheduled for another Dopper Ultrasound for a reevaluation of my PD later this month (July).

About a month ago I stopped daily use of VED. After using the VED for just over six months I regained most of my size loss although the curve remains.
I continue to use the VED a couple of times a week to help maintain my size.

At this point, I don't know which is worse ED or PD. Although in my mind PD is another form of ED, with different symptoms and treatments.

I got PD Feb 2023. I developed 40-60 degree curvature. Sex is still possible but limited because of PD.
I lost over an inch in length and an inch in girth. This all happened seemingly overnight.

In May 2023 I started using a penis pump twice a day. which after 8 months helped me regain at least some of my penis size loss from PD. But did little for curvature.
Sept 2023 I started Verapamil Injection treatments to (hopefully) reduce curvature. I did seven Verapamil Injections with little if any change.
In Feb 2024, my urologist decided to pause the Verapamil treatment and re-evaluate in six months with a Doppler ultrasound.

Today he did the Doppler ultrasound. I went in with no expectations, nor did I have any questions regarding my condition. Today I half expected he might suggest surgery. He did not say anything about surgery.

With the Doppler ultrasound he could see the plaque (which caused size loss and curvature) but said it had not calcified (hardened).
Dr Brock the urologist, wants to restart the Verapamil injections. He believes they can reduce the curvature to 30 degrees or less.

I am at least somewhat hopeful that additional Verapamil treatments will help reduce curvature. One thing Dr Brock asked me if was doing was any traction and modeling which is essentially counter-stretching the affected areas that have caused curvature. To be honest I did over 100 hours using a penis pump which helped with size loss but did very little in counter-stretching the affected areas.

PD always baffled and terrified me, it's the 21st century and there is still no effective, simple solution for this. Aren't these plaques made of calcium? Maybe calcium channel blockers? More research is urgently needed!

Today I had my 10th Verapamil injection treatment.
On my previous treatment (three weeks ago) my urologist asked for photos of my erection, which I had not brought with me.

Today I came prepared with three sets of photos from the past month. He looked at the photos and said he believes he can reduce the curvature, which is estimated to be 40-50 degree curvature. The good news is sex is possible but limited. And only slightly discomforting to my wife and I.

I was surprised because I was expecting him to tell me that the Verapamil treatments weren't working. Time and continued pumping and traction will tell.
