When to Begin Cycling?

Postby EDbeGone! » Mon Oct 14, 2024 5:47 pm

Hey Guys!

I'm new here and didn't find this site until after my surgery. I got implanted on September 30th so I'm now 2 weeks post op. I got a Titan One Touch 22cm done in Doha, Qatar where I currently reside.

My question is when do you begin cycling? My Dr. saw me one week after the surgery to check that everything was OK and then said he would see me again in one month. He travels a lot between Qatar and Canada so I can reach him to ask him about cycling. I'm not feeling any pain anywhere, not the scrotum or shaft. Occasionally I will feel some minor discomfort but nothing too serious.

I was wondering if it was too soon to begin cycling? I was thinking of starting week 3. I've read a lot of people write about pain while cycling. Is this pain in the shaft or the scrotum where the pump is?

I'm excited about getting started on cycling and cigar l closer to having sex again but I don't want to start too soon where I may experience unnecessary pain etc.

Can you guys advise when might be a good time to start pumping? Lots of helpful information on this board and I'm thankful for finding it!

This will vary a lot from doctor to doctor. So you really need to follow your doctors' instructions on this. You just have to contact the doctors office and someone should be able to get an answer for you.

Ok that sounds about right. Thank you! About the pain though... where is it normally felt at?

Again, doctors are different. Even in the hospital after surgery I did not have any pain meds. For the ride back to my hotel room I did take some Tylenol. After I was back at the hotel, I took 1 Motrin and 1 Tylenol for pain. I did take a pain pill for the airplane ride home, but it did not work until I was walking in the front door of my house. I had little swelling or bruising. I have an AMS LGX. You have a Coloplast Titan. And men need different amounts of work to have a device placed. Some have a lot of trouble with the pump. I did not. I had and still have a bit of discomfort from the reservoir. My AMS user DVD had a protocol for cycling. Your doctor should give you a protocol for cycling. Do your best to follow those instructions and any other instructions from your doctor. As far as anything you read on this or any other site you should ask doctor before doing any of it. After you are fully healed and released from your doctor's care then you can decide if you try any of them.

Right now your job is to heal and avoid infection. Next will be cycling and avoiding infection. Some men heal much faster than others. Just depends on you and your doctor. With cycling I would inflate util I felt stretching or mild discomfort. This was in my penis from the expansion of the cylinders. I would follow the protocol I was given. First was once a day and just inflate and the deflate. The 2 times a day. Then leave inflated for 5 minutes I think. Then increase the time.

But you need to ask your doctor if you can start cycling. Could be you are ready. Your doctor knows more about you then what I or any other post on web sites say. This can be a long full recovery. But some men are way faster than others.

Good luck.

I started cycling as soon as my incision was fully healed.

My Dr was moving offices and I had a hard time getting my final follow up. But once I felt healed enough I started cycling
For me it was 21 days post surgery. Normally most physicians wait about 6 weeks.

On average the wait time for cycling seems to be 4 to 6 weeks depending on how much swelling you have. If your surgery was on September 30, I would wait until early November. You still have a lot of healing to go and a lot of swelling to go down.

Thank you. I was told 6 weeks as well. I only asked the question because I've read many people on here who started sooner. And being that I'm not experiencing any pain, closed incision and occasional discomfort on the scrotum skin when walking..I was curious if it was OK to pump it up. I'm not really concerned with size etc.. just want to get back intimate with the wife after so long! 8-)

Yes my surgeon has me scheduled first week of November. My wife's birthday is on the 9th of November so I wanted to be on time for that! :D

As of today, I don't feel any pain or discomfort at all. I don't even feel like I have an implant in me. I can honestly wait until November, it's not that big of a deal. But when I first pump it up will I be too sore to perform? What to expect from pumping for the first time?
