I feel like I am being forced to consider implant when I probably just need pills that contain what they claim to contain.

This is a ridiculous situation to be in:

Since the pandemic, I had only one 90-day refill of a generic cialis that worked pretty well. That was a couple of years ago. I haven't been able to find that particular generic brand anywhere since then, but I hoarded some, and sure enough, every time I used them I would get good erections. Anyway, all the other generics of this medication they gave me before or since (three different manufacturers so far) might as well be sugar pills. I know they are bunk because they have no side effects.

And I haven't found working generics of viagra and levitra since 2021. Same thing, no side effects so I know they’re bunk.

My docs have confirmed to me that other patients have this problem. In fact one said “I get this all the time...” But the docs don’t have control over the brand you get.

Pharmacies in my area refuse to order brand name cialis/levitra/viagra even if you specifically ask for them. They would cost thousands of dollars per container if they did order them. As for ordering a particular generic brand, that is impossible too. You pretty much get whatever fell from the truck.

I ran out of my hoard of the generic cialis that worked about a year ago and haven’t had a decent erection since except with injections, but I don’t care to inject anymore because I get long term swelling and nodules (scarring) from them.

I had the same issue with a TRT clinic’s generic meds. I went back to a peptide company’s meds and they work much better. I’d be happy to share it with you if the board allows it.

Hey Vvs111,

I totally get your frustration, it’s a rough situation when you feel like the generics aren’t doing what they’re supposed to. I’ve had similar issues, especially with generic meds feeling like sugar pills. The quality and effectiveness can vary so much between manufacturers, which is crazy when you’re relying on these meds for something so important.

It’s good to hear that you found better results with a peptide company’s meds. If it’s allowed, sharing the info could really help those of us struggling to find consistent, effective options. In the meantime, it might also be worth pushing your doc or pharmacy to see if they can source the brand you had success with, though I know that can be tricky with the costs and availability issues you mentioned.

Hope you find a solution soon!

But that doesn’t explain why one manufacturer’s product works and all the others’ don’t. I saved a bunch of the good ones for important occasions and confirmed that it was the brand by experimenting with changing back and forth. But stretching 90 pills over 3 years, because you can’t find them again, has meant only 90 good days during 3 years of misery.

My docs also confirmed that some generics don’t work, based on patient reports. They say they get it all the time.

Should I have surgery just because it has been impossible to get the right generic these years?

The pharmacies in my part of the country mostly sell obscure fly by night manufacturers from India that nobody has ever heard of. India has great and respected manufacturers but you never get one of those. When you look up the manufacturers that pharmacies do dispense (Torrent, for example) you will find FDA warning letters for poor hygiene, poor quality control, fails on tests for active ingredient, toxin contamination, etc., but they don’t pull their license. I confirmed for myself that their product is bunk, yet it is what you will get from Walgreens, Stop and Shop, etc.

I use cialis/viagra /vardenafil from pharmacies in india most of the time as that s what my supplier has in stock, i think if you stick with the leading larger well known pharmacies they tend to have better longer times.ajanta, cipla, centurian are the 3 pharmacies i would go for .So for some of the smaller pharmacies if i wanted a 100mg sildenafil then i would go for the 120mg one,or for a vardenafil i would maybee take a 40mg in place of a 20mg pill.

I used to order generic sildenafil through North West Pharmacy in Canada. I found it to be as effective as Viagra. I think it was about 2 bucks a pill. The brand was Cipla. It was made in India. For all I know it was probably made in some open air thatch roofed, dirt floored shed by child labor, but the effectiveness seemed on par with the name brand. It's been some years since I ordered any. North West Pharmacy may use a different supplier of a different brand or they could still use the same brand but it may have changed. One of my orders arrived looking like it had been run over by a lawn mower. They replaced it quickly with no issues.

I've usually had pretty good results with all the pills. However if it's a brand new partner, the pills aren't a sure thing at all if my anxiety is up. But with a partner, yes for sure. But side effects on all were usually bad after awhile. Stuffy nose mainly.

I’d be happy to share if it’s allowed. I want them to get more business so they’ll always be open for me too.

If generic don’t work, try the brand med. Is well known that some generic meds don’t work for some people or be effective at all.

Remember that the active components need to be absorved by body, and here can be the difference between generics and brand.

Unfortunately pharmacy chains here in my part of the U.S. won't even order brand-name anymore. They would cost me thousands of dollars per month anyway so it is not a sustainable solution.
