Coloplast Titan Implant pump stuck

Postby indusvalley » Wed Oct 30, 2024 3:05 pm

Hey guys, logging in again after such a long time. I hope you all are doing well and enjoying life.

I have a quick question for those who have a coloplast implant - after pumping when my dick gets 50% inflated, I am unable to pump further. My pump gets stuck in squeezed state. When I deflate it, my pump returns back to normal. What could be the issue and is there a way to solve this?
A young guy in his early 30s from South Asia. Implanted Titan 22cm by Dr. Tariq Hakky in Atlanta (Dec 2020). Amazing doctor! No pain during recovery. My size is 5.75” x 4.6” which is better than pre-OP size of 5.6” x 4.5”. Hoping to gain more in future.

Sorry to hear your issue, does your penis ever get hard?. Or does the bulb just go flat after a few pumps?

The latter. I start pumping and as my penis begins to fill up about 20-30%, the bulb just goes flat. I am unable to get hard.

Sounds like a leak, my Titan did the same thing. 5yrs is all I got out of mine, you need to go to your urologist and have them take a look..

Do you remember doing some activity that caused it to leak? Mine worked fine weeks ago, the only thing I did in between is started squats and lower body exercises at the gym. Could that have caused it to leak?

Also, what happened in your case when it leaked? Did they change the whole implant system? How was your recovery?

Good morning Indusvalley, No, I had did nothing different, I was going to the bedroom with my wife and I pumped and it went up to about 50%then my bulb would go flat and I would release the fluid and try pumping again. The pump eventually just would pump nothing maybe 1 squeeze and remain flat. So, I went to my urologist as quick as I could get in and he told me most likely a hole in the tubing somewhere and would need a complete revision, this was in March of this year. He said he would recommend the AMS LGX. OK, I am going to skip alot here but I found another urologist and researched him the best I could as well as the hospital and the AMS LGX, spoke with all mfgs of the implants. This surgeon went in and found the tubing going to my left cylinder had a hole in it, do not know how just something Coloplast is known for when reading the forums, tubing is their weak point. Let me tell you this, the revision was nothing like the original implant, I never took any pain pills when I got home, it was out patient surgery, so I was back home in a few hours after the surgery. I was walking 2 days after the surgery a mile or more. Everyone that I have read about who has had revision surgery say that it nothing like the original, believe it. I am very happy with the AMS LGX and if it should fail I would go get another one..

Wilson, THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your experience! It seems to me that I am following in your footsteps. My first implant is a Coloplast and the first failure is exactly like yours. I have three questions, and I would appreciate it if you could answer them:

1. Why did you go for AMS LGX? Doesn't Coloplast offer 10 years warranty if the implant fails and wouldn't it make sense to get a free replacement from them?

2. Why would you go for AMS LGX again if it failed instead of Coloplast? Since you have experienced both brands, what do you like about AMS that you didn't like about Coloplast?

3. I got my Coloplast implant done by Dr. Hakky, who was amazing in handling the whole thing. However, he is known for Coloplast implants, and I am not sure if he will switch to an AMS LGX implant if requested, but I will ask him. I just feel that the money spent on the Coloplast implant would go down the drain after just 4 years if I switched to AMS LGX and paid the full cost of that. Do you have any thoughts on that?

Indus, I went with what both urologist recommended, they both said that they would recommend the LGX for me. We spoke about the CX but I went with both of their initial recommendation.
What I like about the AMS is that so far it doesn't have the dog ears but it has only been just over 4 months. Also it doesn't have the crinkle feel like the Titan had. My wife says it feels natural now and enjoys the sex. Don't get me wrong, the Titan worked and I loved it when it did work, it sure as hell beats a dick that just lays there.. but so far I and my wife like the AMS better.
I never asked about the warranty being that it lasted 5 yrs, I think I still would have been on the hook for both the surgeon and hospital, talk with your surgeon about that. You said you went to Dr Hakkey, he certainly can advise you on what options you have. Hope this helps and hope you can get yours replaced very soon.

Perfect! Thank you for sharing your experience. I will talk to him and report back. I am also leaning towards AMS 700 LGX this time.

Btw I noticed in your signature that you went from 23 cm to 18cm with 5 rte. The implant has a tube that goes from the inflatable shaft inside your penis to the reservoir. Does having 5 rte not cause the inflatable shaft to move further forward, therefore causing the tubing to move forward and become more exposed/visible in your pubic area or the rear of the penis? Does that not cause discomfort? If so, why did the Dr not give you a 21cm implant with 2 rte?

Since you had both the titan and the lgx, you are one of the few people in the world who tried both implants. Which one do you like more and why?
