Concerns About Reservoir

Postby fucked0ne » Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:34 pm

What kind of range of motion do you have with the reservoir, and, for that matter, limitations? Is it possible to rotate your torso, stretch, and sleep on the side of the body where it's located? I'm concerned about it becoming disconnected.

Also, is it normal to no longer feel the reservoir as you advance in your recovery? There are days where I can't feel it at all, and it always makes me think something is wrong.

So, wilsonmill, you haven't curtailed any movements or activities of any sort?

What exactly is the reservoir made out of anyway? Silicone? I'm assuming that's a strong material, like it's not just going to pop in my abdomen?

The AMS 700 penile implant reservoir is made of silicone and coated with Parylene on the inside:
Material: The reservoir is a silicone balloon that holds saline.
Coating: The reservoir is coated with Parylene to enhance its durability

You shouldn't have to worry about the reservoir at all. It is neatly tucked between two layers of muscle in your abdomen. Once you're healed up it isn't going anywhere without a surgeon's scalpel. It's tough and is not going to explode inside you. Not being able to find it is a good thing. As close to natural as possible.

Bad news, I can't play the piano.

Not a problem though. I never could play the piano. You worry way too much.

Reservoir is the last thing you should be concerned about. After many years reading on here I’ve not heard of a single case of it busting or coming undone.
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast with Classic pump 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong

Probably true, Gt1956. But in my defense, no one really told me anything about the strengths and limitations of the device, so I'm just being prudent. The thought of something busting, having to set up an early revision, and having the doctor tell me, "Oh, you shouldn't have done this," is something I would very much like to avoid. But, yes, I was just implanted and I do have a lot of anxiety about the implant... kind of like a first child. I'll relax in time!
