I am new to the forum. I had RP for prostate cancer and the current Trimix at 80 units does not work for me. I was wondering if any other members had their URO write a new script for double the concentration and if it worked for them?

I am far from an expert on this. I was using a tri mix formula and like you and inject 80-90 units with fair results. Didn't last long and wasn't as hard as I wanted.

Told my uro, he gave me what he called a super mix. Never really found out what's in it. But now I inject 50 - 55 units. HARD for at least 2 hours and usable for another hour

It would probably help to know the formulation you're taking.
I wonder if formulation is a word?

The current formula is 10mcg-12mg-1mg/ml. I asked my urologist last year if he would increase the strength of the compound, but all he talked about was an implant. I plan to ask him during my May appointment for an increase again? If he says no I will ask for a second opinion. I think the implant should be the last resort. Any advise that you can provide me would be greatly appreciated!

That is a pretty weak (and odd valued) formula. Where do they get these numbers .. just pull them out of a hat?

A good strength formula would be 20mcg PGE-1, 30mg Pap and 1mg Phent.

Yes, for a urologist it is all in The Surgery .. not in the pills and shots -- no fun in that for them.

But stand your ground and get a new formula...

(also though .. if 80 u of the weak formula did not work (at all? nuthin?? ) then I would not get hopes up much for any other stronger mixture -- but you never know until you try it.)

This must be a common occurrence. My Uro suggested implants the first time I went there. After the weak formula, he did it again. Now my formula is:
PGE/Pap/Phent Lyo
45mcg/27mg/1mg
It's marked HI so I guess it's pretty strong.
At least it works and I can get about 15 pops per vial of 2ml stuff.

At 80 units I can get an erection, but I cannot use it for penetration. I'm sure with a higher dose I could use a lower dose and achieve penetration. Also because I am still leaking (one pad a day) I would like an AUS so I'm not sure if an implant and AUS will all fit in the scrotum. That plus I have an in large vein in the scrotum. What's your thoughts?
