So far just using Tylenol until the bandage comes off later today. Worst thing is that irritation of the urethra due to catheter. It stings! Bottle was given to me by hospital and it’s much better to collect and check urine output. It seems I have to relearn the muscles to release, maybe a side effect of the topical block that was used. Ache in the shaft area like a post Trimix session but not painful. The drain seems to be slowing up but if you’re blood phobic you might want someone else to empty it. Had some entertaining Jackson Pollock moments repainting the toilet bowl when some stringy clot gets stuck and suddenly releases. Got to laugh…

It looks like I got the 18 with a 2cm back fill or something. Will be interesting to see what that unveils as….

I'm going to go out on a limb and ask the DUMB question, because I have seen some contradictory reports of ice vs heat. What am I icing and when/for how long after ? I have some of those gel-packs in the freezer, I assume nobody uses actual ice much these days. Or do I need to stock up on frozen peas too )

I feel good with my surgeon, Dr Kansas, I think he's got a pretty high track record in the area. It's just that stepping off the ledge hesitation I am sure you can all relate. If anybody here has been through Dr Kansas' team in North Austin, I'd be glad to hear either open or DM. I've also read some folks did some vacuuming (not of the house!) before surgery but with only a week to go that seems unlikely to change anything. As to infections, obviously I am wary my diabetes can make things more complicated, although I understand Dr Kansas phones in a course of antibiotics the weekend before surgery to get things in the system pre-emptively.

Thanks for the tips on the post anaesthesia (when I had my stent done it was fentanyl sedation so I think I wasn't totally KO but I remember nothing); I guess my nightmare is waking up and finding out they ran into a "snag" during the operation and nothing happened.

Oh one more dumb question - anybody have a vasectomy after the implant ? Did the extra "ball" cause complications ? Anybody have it done at the same time "while you're down there" ?

I had gel ice packs for my knees before I got my knees replaced so I used them to make my scrotum comfortable from all the bruising. I had the penoscrotal procedure, so I had more bruising and pain. I liked the gel packs because they didn't get wet from condensation, I would wrap them in a face towel to protect my balls from freezing.

Dr Kansas unwrapped the sausage today and honestly was expecting a lot worse to look at. A little bruising on the head but overall pretty good. Drain removed, and cleared to shower so it's ice pack time. He does infrapubic and says the scrotum swelling is usually much less as a result.

Now I get to play with the fidget spinner over the next three weeks until I see him again. I guess infection watch is the next thing. Peeing is becoming easier because I think the muscles are getting back from their drug fuelled party ) He warned me days 3 and 4 can be a bit of a regression pain wise once those fade away. But so far Tylenol and Advil are holding the fort.

I'm pleased so far that I didn't find an excuse to reschedule.

I'm laughing at the keyring model of the pump they gave me. Am I supposed to put that on my keychain as a secret handshake of the Brotherhood ?

So glad things seem to be going so well!! I am 3 weeks away from my procedure and while I'm hopeful, I'm also quite nervous.

Yes I was like you. Hopeful and nervous in equal measure. The night before I considered calling it off and even when I was in the hospital bed waiting for the anesthesia I flirted with the notion of going to the restroom and climbing out the window. Well maybe not exactly.

But I reflected on the past disappointment with pills and injections and asked myself did I really want to give up. I had very little to lose and fortune of my insurance company accepting my appeal on grounds of medical necessity.

Stay the course.

I believe the label on the card says Tenacio. And I asked Dr K if the one inside is the same material as this seems hella difficult to compress. He said no, the one inside is silicone and there's no keyring on it ) Just reached the stage where I can bear feeling around down there and its bigger than i thought jostling for position with the other twins. I can't see how any female attention wouldn’t notice but maybe...

So I'm now at the point where by next appointment in three weeks I have to explore the cycling. Its really crazy thought, I guess because of the location but I half expect pumping to cause pain like squeezing a testicle - phantom testicle syndrome ?

Expect the swelling and bruising to get A LOT worse. I was 15 different shades of black and purple, but now the normal color is returning. Keep an ice pack on for 5-6 days and watch a lot of football...

Your pelvic floor is going to be incredibly sore and uncomfortable. Every time you flex your rascal you will know it. Sitting in a chair will also be a challenge; luckily, I'm working from home so I just let it all hang out.

That is the new Tenacio pump- I have the same thing. I can't start cycling until ~ 01 Dec, but you can easily feel all the features of the Teancio pump.
