Just got implant...would like some reassurance and support

Postby Newimplant » Sun Apr 06, 2014 7:06 pm

Hi all,

I have been following franktalk for a while now but this is my first time posting. I had some questions...i found the answers to a few on here but some im not so sure about. If you could help me out that would be great!

My brief story:

I am a 28 y/o guy who had ED since 14. We are not sure why but think there was some injury at some point. Nothing worked well...pills, injections etc. Saw multiple Uros including Darius Paduch, Irwin Goldstein and finally Francois Eid who did the deed.

Had the implant placed on 4/2/14. Pain right now is bearable with high dose Ibuprophen. I have a follow up in about 4.5 weeks for activation. I know. I had the coloplast put in but I have no idea about the length. I was told bec glans was narrow that he made one shorter than the other by half a cm or so. Here are my concerns that i would appreciate if someone addressed briefly:

1. Length: I am a small guy to begin with and this was a big concern for me. Dr. Eid said before surgery that he could get my stretched length which was 13 cm. When I removed the bandages 2 days post op, I almost had a heart attack as it is in a semi-erect state at about 10 cm or 4 inches....not cool. I called dr with a few concerns and he said it really shouldnt grow much more when inflated. How have pples experiences been here with the coloplast? Can I gain that inch back over time or kiss it goodbye? Why would Dr. Eid say not to expect much more when pple on this forum come out post op with much less than what they get months later? The implant feels like it stops short of the glans as well.

2. Sensation: Thankfully I have sensation in the glans and the dorsum of the penis. The ventral aspect though....I am numb. Will sensation here come back? Have other people had paresthesia in the ventral area come back over time?

3. Kinks? This is really weird but toward the base of the penis on both lateral/dorsal side it feels like there are hard nodules or kinks. Its analagous to the hard springs on those uncomfortable pull out couches...shouldnt the whole thing be smooth? Wouldnt this hurt a woman if she feels these hard and uneven nodules? I am hoping that they are kinks in the implant as it isnt fully inflated but i cant be sure. What if it is the back end of the implant or where the implant fills from? Not cool.

4. Soft glans: the glans is soft and the implant as it sits now is not fully into the glans. I do have good sensation here though. Will it get hard at some point during arousal or is there gonna be a cm or two of soft penis followed by a rock hard penis behind it?

I know am being paranoid here but i am a young guy who just took this huge physical and emotional plunge and i am starting to have some regrets. Any support out there would be much appreciated!

I had a 21cm Titan put in by Doctor Kramer on June 20th 2013. I was about 3.5 inches when I came home and that was being generous. I am 5.5 now. My original length was about 6 but that was before peyronies. It took about 10 weeks for everything to heal and for me to get the length that I was told I would get before surgery. Just do a search on my posts and you can read the whole timeline. Your implant will not get any longer but your body is going to heal and the swelling will go down and more of you will be exposed.

Just rest up, and let your body heal. Once your doc lets you start pumping, follow an agressive pumping regimen. In time, things will get better.

about #3. sounds like you are describing a "dog ear" effect of the implant tubes when they are bent over. This usually happens only when pent over sharply or can happen when the cylinder are totally deflated by squeezing, however these implants are very hard when inflated so there won't be any dog ear effect when you are inflated.
#4, soft glans. the implant will not make the glans hard. hopefully it will engorge and harden when you are aroused, however there could be some trauma or existing condition that may prevent the glans from working properly.
#2 it will take about six months for any numbness that may have been caused by the surgery to resolve.

Newimplant --

As to your question about Coloplast experiences, go to the search function and search the implant forum for 'coloplast' or 'titan' and you will find lots of comments. Probably more than you want to read.

You are 5 days post-op and its way, way to early to evaluate your length. Even 6 weeks is too early. I stopped changing length after about 3 months. Other guys have different experiences. I think you shouldn't make a final evaluation until 6 months from now. And that goes not just for length, but for every other aspect, such as sensation. There are guys who have posted on this site who have experienced non-trivial changes in length, girth, sensation, glans engorgement, and probably other things 9 months to a year and a half later.

I get a kink too if I'm totally deflated. As knotreel says, it goes away with inflation. Even just a couple of pumps makes it go away, and I am still what I consider 'flaccid' at that point. No semi-erection. Just a little plumper. I also think the cylinders feel a little softer and more flexible over time.

Also, you can check with Dr Eid's office to find out what size Titan you got. Then this link might help: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3008&p=19875#p19875

Also, it sounds like you're pretty fully deflated. Most guys with titans see 3/4 to 1 inch difference between flaccid and erect once they're fully healed and stretched out. And, as proactive points out, guys often see more growth than that as they start pumping up and stretch things out. The fact that you're got a kink or two is a very good indicator that you're not near the full length you will get when fully pumped up. If you're 10cm now fully deflated, and you were 13cm stretched in the Dr office (that difference is just over an inch) I would think you might recover most of that 3cm difference in just the difference between your current flaccid and pumped erect, even without further stretching, which might give you even more.

I had my Titian implanted 12/5/13.. I was about 3.5 inches when I came home 30% inflated until my 6 weeks appt of my dr. I stretched over 6 inches in the drs office preop while in a flaccid state. I now have 6.5 inches back. My implants are well into the glans almost to the end. The glands do not enlarge by the implant but naturally when you are aroused. You still have some blood flow and Viagra will actually help this. Just like others have said wait until you are healed I believe you will be pleased I know I am. Good luck!

I think the other guys have about covered what to expect and assuring you that you are at a worry state before you should be. I am at four weeks and was sent home only partially inflated and at about the size of the others. I was not due back for first post op appt until April 28th. However, I got concerned about one end of my incision gaping open a tad over the weekend to point of a very small leakage so I was able to get in to see associate and surgeon for a check today (4/7). I was concerned about getting infection but all was fine with incision, just may take a little extra heal time for the area. This stress on incision was probably due to a little over activity on my part. Anyway, associate inflated me with a few more pumps. Yea, at four weeks and although it hurt, not as much as I thought it might. Final pump which I doubt was max was about all I wanted at this point but it did look good. I was hoping he would say to try it out, but no, he deflated then pumped to about where it was when I went in and suggested to leave all alone until my visit on the 28th. I did get my sample pratice pump and I will hope in three weeks the hurt will not be quite as bad. But, for what I saw, I can do it. Now the release part I may have to bit a bullet on for the first few trys.

I had a slight curve to left and I can see the bends in the "tubes" but the extra pumps he added assured me that all that will straighten out good. Take it easy and don't get over active. Use the ice when needed and take a little pain med as you need. Let all heal and relax. If I only get four inches (actual, not to bone measurement) and it is hard then I will be pleased. I feel a hard four that stays "on command" is better than a six that does not last.

Relax and let things heal. I am not a Coloplast patient, I have an AMS 700 unit. I can tell you at 17 months from surgery it was one of the best things that I have done. It will definitely grow on you and you will find that it may be somewhat harder to conceal when flaccid than before.
