Congratulations guys, I had my implant done 2 years ago. I'm in SW Florida.
I was nervous too. Came home with the catheter, was removed the next day. I had little to no pain.
As long as you are comfortable with your surgeon, you'll be ok.
I have the AMS 700, very happy with it.
Good Luck guys, you'll be fine.
Started with Viagra at age 40. Worked good for about 12 years.
Tried Trimix injections, worked great for about 8 years
Now Trimix no longer works.
I got implant on Oct 26th 2022.

I can totally relate. The night before I was trying to think of a reason to postpone. The day of, sitting in the bed wearing gown waiting for my surgeon and anesthetist to come visit I wondered about making a bathroom break and disappearing out the window. But they came, stuck a syringe of something in my IV and I didn't make to to counting backwards from 10. Woke up in recovery and it was all over. Didn't need the codeine pills after all. The worst thing to be honest was peeing the first couple of times after they removed the catheter after surgery. Oh an no pooping for five days )

I just kept telling myself "the alternative is to have this useless noodle the rest of my life and miss out on using it with my beautiful wife. So, either this implant is as good as other men say it is and I'm brave, or it's a total cluster and I end up in the same place I am right now".

*it's as good (or better) than other men say it is, and I'm not missing out on a single thing with my beautiful wife. ;)

I read many other journals and my biggest takeaway was ice, ice, ice. I think for the first 48 hours my groin was constantly on ice, and only for the 6 hour flight home was it not iced. I took no painkillers, only Advil and Tylenol on the travel day, alternating every 3 hours. I had zero pain, just a little discomfort that the OTC pills handled.

I made an Iced boner hoagie, a long bag of ice from the tip of my pumped penis all the way down to the bed up against my balls, and another shorter bag of ice on the topside of my penis from the tip to my fat pad, then wrapped it snug with velcro straps and watched TV. Get up and move around a bit here and there, but I'm convinced the ice (and Dr. Clavell's pelvic pain block) got me through with zero pain.

Good luck, you'll soon join the rest of us and wonder why you waited. I told my wife before the surgery to take a good long look at the ground because soon enough all she's going to be looking at is the ceiling. 8-)

No pooping for 5 days? Why's that?

I think he's saying he couldn't poop for 5 days, not that it was a post-op requirement. Very commonly the anesthesia used will bind people up, it's a known side effect.

Wrong , it’s the opioid codeine which causes constipation.

Good luck!! Initially you'll probably feel like "what have I done?".

The first 2 weeks aren't fun, but after the pain subsides and you get back to your normal life, youll feel a renewed sense of relief and weight lifted. its pretty awesome to be able to get it up whenever you want from here on out.
