Questions about my recent surgery.

Postby Guns_up » Mon Dec 16, 2024 8:31 am

Tomorrow I’m 2 weeks post operation. I’m ok sitting or laying down but have pretty intense pain walking or standing. Like. 7-8 on pain scale to testicles. Is this normal? Incision looks great. No redness or sign of infection. Still have swelling though.

Is this pain normal? I’m starting to worry the equipment has moved or isn’t properly placed. I hope this is just me being paranoid but it really is a lot of pain

You are still early on the healing process. Sorry it hurts so bad, mine was terrible too.
Keep taking whatever pain meds doc issued. Ice and or heat may help.

I hurt in my testicles and what they call the “taint area”underneath my testicles

That doesn't sound too bad, my testies got super swollen felt like they were gonna burst at times to the point where first 10 days or so i had to go lay down at about 4pm because it just felt like i had intense pressure from sitting around and no amount of painkillers were preventing that, that did clear up at about day 14 though. My pump was also placed in this "taint area" (its not supposed to be) which was causing me extra aggro.

Based on the location of your pain, it could just be the body trying to adapt to the fact that you've got something extra floating around in your scrotum even though its only little it does add some extra weight that your body has to adapt to. I was definitely still walking with a wide gate by day 14 but it was still painful to have my legs closed together like you normally would.

The only bits of equipment that could end up in your taint or scrotum would be your reservoir if its migrated into your scrotum (this would require more surgery to fix and is also why you have a "weight limit" on lifting things for a few weeks as lifting heavy can force the reservoir to migrate there) or your pump. If your feeling brave you can have a poke around, be gentle it will hurt but just sanity check to make sure your stuff is still in the correct place.

With the pain your getting it sounds mostly away from the implant so i wouldnt be too concerned just sounds like nerve pain from your body healing. even now on week 3 my sack is a complete mess from how swollen it got it stretched and damaged all the skin which then gave a sunburn/peeling affect. The operation is pretty brutal but you should see day by day improvements.

I had similar pain in my sack while standing and sometimes while laying down. It appeared to be my pump settling in. I am now one month post op and I am completely pain free and can move my pump around behind my testicles to grasp the bulb and inflate/deflate button with no problem
I see Dr. Clavell in two weeks to get activated.

Guns_up, I like that handle, I bet you're ready to get your gun up so you can start banging away  ;)

This is very normal, I had the same pain, some guys heal quicker than others and they can move around just fine. I was still having pain walking and standing at 4 weeks but only after extended walks or standing.
I even had pain sitting in hard chairs, it was very uncomfortable, I had to find something soft that I could sit in.
Keep taking your pain meds and over the counter Tylenol if that works to keep your pain at bay.

Good Luck, S

2 years in here Coloplast Titan(Perito). For the first 13 days I had tremendous discomfort and pain. As others on here are saying it takes some time I couldn't agree more. Do your cycling etc and you will be just fine. Today mine feels just like my original. GL to ya.

I had 1 week of pain pills. At days 5 & 6 were my worst days. I thought I might run out of pills. Day 8 it got bearable. Sitting was restless. Avoided sudden movements but I was able to drive & do grocery shopping. Somewhere in week 2 I bought a heating pad. I slept with it between my legs cradling my sack for 2-3 weeks. Worth every penny it cost me. Well actually it was fairly cheap.

I think my recovery was somewhere in the range of the middle that is experienced. Some bruising & swelling. It gets a little better every day. It just takes time. A pillow between your knees at night might help. I did have more pain in the taint area than in the glans or shaft. I found that surprising.

I had 13 days of intense pain testicles. It will all pass. Cycle along with time and patience will pay off for ya. 2 years in here and couldn't be happier.
