Implanted 12/13/24, Challenging Recovery
Re: Implant Dr Eid, 12/13 not doing well
it seems like every day I’m getting worse. I can barely walk. I contacted Dr. Eid and he is in the office tomorrow and said I could come in, which I will. After that he is on vacation so I don’t want to wait.

Sorry you are having a tough recovery. Unfortunately, some of us guys hurt more than others and heal differently. From all reports you are in good hands with Dr. Eid. Hope he has something to help. It took Percocet to calm my pain down.

Day 5/6 is often peoples most painful day, its when everything seems to be at its max, swelling, pain, discomfort, its also about the time that you start to lose your tolerance for dealing with it. it DOES get better beyond then. hopfully your dr can sort you out with something to manage the pain.

Calm down. It's very recent. Cheer up and take care of yourself. And remember the party will soon begin.

Thank you, Parmenides, RMJ9224, Old Guy…and everyone else, I can’t tell you how much your support helps. I guess I started to “catastrophize,” Because all I’m able to do is sit around. I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow, I will get a firsthand opinion. Also, I had switched to just taking Tylenol, don’t know what the heck is wrong with me. I’m now going to go back to Tylenol with codeine. I need it, I shouldn’t be shy about it. And I know Dr. Eid is a great doctor; I already know he’s a very good person, I started seeing him two years ago when I tried the injections, then he went on a long-term medical leave. Then I saw him again to consult about the implant. He has always been very kind. I just feel like I tend to have a lot of bad luck and that I caught him on a bad day, but I have to stop thinking that way.
Bless you all…

Martin25 wrote:Well, implanted 3 days ago on Friday by Dr Eid…surprisingly pain first and second night not bad, with moderate painkiller. I followed the icing protocol, was worried penis wasn’t pointing straight up as it was supposed to, texted Eid who responded and said that it was indeed pointing up and held in place by the catheter. Then, in the middle of the night, last night, and this morning I had very bad pain in the area where the reservoir is. Dr. Eid’s protocol is you go in day three with the goal of activating and then getting the hot baths where you start to cycle.
His nurse removed my bandage, cleaned me up and that’s when I saw it. My scrotum like a grapefruit and all purple. She said he wouldn’t be able to activate today, okay, fine. But then, when Dr. Eid came into the room with his nurse practitioner, he took a look and said, “look at this!” (Not in a good way.) Frankly, I was a bit taken aback. he told me to begin the hot baths lying on my back while holding up my scrotum to try to bring the swelling down and told me not to attempt to activate. He said to return next week… OK, I guess these things can happen, but what I am a bit troubled by is that he spent maybe five minutes with me. He also didn’t tell me that he is on vacation next week so that I will be seeing the nurse practitioner. I mentioned the pain in the area of the reservoir, but he didn’t seem to be that concerned.
I then asked him if I was given the size we had anticipated, 20 cm or if he had to do any trimming. He said he didn’t remember, which I guess I can understand, but he said he would have to check the records. When he left after just several minutes, I was expecting him to come back with that information, he did not. I’m sorry, I know he does a lot of these, but this is my penis and my life and it was a very big decision for me. I was hoping for a little… encouragement. Before I left, I sought out the nurse practitioner and spoke to him about my concerns, and he was very positive and encouraging, phew! I mean, honestly, I was quite upset at the appearance of the penis and scrotum. I’ve seen pictures from other guys who have posted and they look much better than mine.
I am home, I took one of the hot baths, which I would not have been able to manage without my girlfriend helping me in and out of the tub. Then I was lying on the couch with my legs elevated when the reservoir area started to hurt really really bad. I reached out to Doctor Eid just to get hopefully get more information… I asked if my pain in the reservoir area, where I also feel some pinching, is related to the large hematoma and swelling of my testicles. He said it should resolve itself in two or three weeks. OK, so much for early activation. He said if there is a real problem (infection?) It would show itself at the three week mark so not to be so concerned now. He’s the expert and I know he knows what he’s doing, but I wish we had better communication today when I was in the office
Has anyone else had significant swelling of the testicles after the procedure? What about the sharp pain by the reservoir? The testicles don’t hurt, just crazy swollen …Maybe I’m worrying too much?
Thank you
Your post is bringing back memories from two years ago when implanted by Perito with Coloplast Titan. What you are describing is "exactly" what I went through as well. 13 days of pain and lots of discomfort. I suppose it's different for everyone. All I can suggest is to cycle when you are able to. Everything will calm down and you will be well on your way. It just takes time and patience. You'll be a happy man in no time.
Re: Implant Dr Eid, 12/13 not doing well
Martin,
I too had the experience of my scrotum looking like a bruised grapefruit and considerable pain as well.
I also developed a hematoma around the circumference of my penis, just below the glans.
It was worrying to me, and I saw my doctor a couple extra times due to my concern.
It did finally resolve after a few weeks, and I have had great results in the long term.
Good luck.

Re: Implant Dr Eid, 12/13 not doing well
I hope you come back with good news from your appointment with dr. Eid.
I am infrapubic, didn't have that grapefruit size scrotum after implant, but I had the pain on day 3 for about 3 days. Lidocaine helped me a lot, I wasn't icing but used to take warm showers.
