Consulations scheduled w/Eid, Clavell, Hakky & Cordon in the next 2 months - ED for 13 years due to rogaine foam

Postby MarkJack » Sun Dec 29, 2024 5:00 pm

Hello to everyone and thanks to all that make this board function. It has really helped me decide which surgeons to choose from.

Long story short, I am in my mid 30's and I have had ED and poor libido since 2011 due to minoxidil (rogaine) foam usage back 14 years ago. Yes, rogaine foam can cause ED/lack of libido. It's a rare side effect, but it is a blood pressure medication and those are known to potentially cause ED.

I've lost alittle length and girth due to the side effects from rogaine. I used to be about 6 inches long and about 6 inches wide. Now I'm probably 5.75 in length and width and maybe on a good day I can get closer to 6.

I was diagnosed with venous leakage in 2017. My inflow was above range but my outflow was high.

I have tried supplemenets, diets, exercise, stem cells via IV and direcly injected into the penis, trimix injections, testosterone injections, HCG, DHT supplements etc etc, aromatase inhibitors - nothing seems to work consistently.

I never have any nocturanl or morning erections and rarely ever have dreams anymore, either.

Long story short, is this forum familiar with any guys here getting implants due to ED/no libido caused by propecia/finasteride, rogaine, blood pressure medications, anti-depressants etc etc? If so, how have the results been?

As mentioned in my title, I have scheduled consultations with Dr Ed, Dr Clavell, Dr Hakky and Dr Billy Cordon. All consulations should be completed by February/March 2025.

Hi MJ,

Of course you can find PFS / PSSD (and other medication-induced ED) sufferers here, and plenty of them went the bionic way. Off the top of my head ViaSwiss and SwissTalk are both in your age range, had finasteride induced ED w/ venous leak and both guys report to be happy with the results of surgery. You might want to check their profiles:

I recall at least 5 guys who ended up bionic due to that, you might want to use search function to find all the journals.

Can't go wrong with either of them, you'll basically be in talks with Mount Rushmore of IPP surgery. All will be well, you'll see. Take care :D
28 y/o, Poland, ED after heavy metal poisoning
Corporal fibrosis after ED - Traction + VED to regain size - seeing great results
Lost 1"L 0.5"G. Regained all length and 0.2"G.
Making money to afford implant, meanwhile trying everything else

You are doing things right by having consultations with the best of the best. We'd greatly appreciate your feedback after you meet with each of them and as your journey progresses.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

you're doing it right.

Develop a list of questions based on your research prior to meeting with the first one. Use those same questions for each, and than add to the list as answers come to questions you didn't know you had.

Also might be a good idea to research both of the main implants beforehand too (Coloplast and AMS), determine their pros and cons as they apply to the way you live your life. All prostheses are not the same, there is no 'one size (style) fits all'.

You can't go wrong with any of those docs in terms of surgical expertise, the only variable is probably which implant and price.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. I am definitely prepping pretty hard for these consultations/creating a list of questions etc.

For whatever reason, my glucose and A1C levels are borderline pre-diabetes. My glucose rangs from 97-103 on a scale of 1-100 and my A1C is also in similar slightly above normal range numbers.... which is extremely odd because aside from fruit smoothies in the morning, I have a ZERO sugar diet. I mean absolutely zero processed sugars. And I have been this way for at least 2-3 years now. Apparently rogaine foam can actually alter your glucose levels, so I suppose its another side effect.

I mention this because it is said that those with diabetes tend to be more likely to have an infection.

Very true. Calories are a common myth with diabetes. 50 years ago my nephew that was type 1 counted his carbs. Carbs are the well known villain. Managing your carb intake is what works on diabetes.

First of all VERY glad you made it here! This board has been an absolute refuge for me the last six months - I may not post a lot here - but I do a LOT of reading.

As far as all your medical questions here's some advice: There is no better advocate for YOUR health than YOU. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor ANYTHING. Trust me, they've heard / seen it all and won't judge you for any 'stupid' or 'immoral' questions.

Second, remember that while a lot of people here are learned and have a lot of experience, at the end of the day listen to your doctor. Unless they give you some big line of huey - they typically know what they are doing and if you are going with Eid, Clavell or Hakky you should be in good hands. Don't also be afraid of doctors who AREN'T those doctors. I get that they are high-volume and all that but any doctor worth his salt who does a fair amount of these surgeries will also be a good choice. Mine is a great doctor, and while not as HIGH volume as the three big ones listed, he's done quite a few of these surgeries over the years and knows what he's doing.

Good luck on your journey!!

You are correct. Odd thing is this - I dont eat any carbs aside from salad (lettuce, raisans and chicken breast with olive oil only) 2x per day. I dont eat bread, anything with gluten, sugar, potatoes, no alcohol etc. I just started cycling a small dosage of glibenclamide and managed to lower my glucose from 101 to 94 in just 7 days.
