How do we Europeans actually deal with the risk if we have an implant surgery in the USA and something goes wrong that requires further inpatient treatment in hospital?
You can't insure yourself against something like that, can you?

I would also recommend researching these surgery packages and surgeons. They seem to include complication protection.

The question is whether the Americans are a quantum leap better.

I'm not aware of an independent body that objectively evaluates, scores, and ranks surgeons. Most of us go by reviews, word of mouth from patients and of course, Center Of Excellence certification by the device companies, which is a verified indicator of a minimum of 25-30 surgeries per year for a specific brand. Dr. Perito suggests selecting one that does atleast 50 per year (4 per month). The idea here is, refinement and honing of surgical skills come from practice and lessons learned from mistakes.

what makes you compare Carlo Bettocchi to Eid, clavell hakky? Carlo Bettocchi operates in Puglia IT, where very few plants are built

I share similar concerns.

The European doctors, as those recommended in this thread, are also usually not as easy to contact as the American ones. I guess because they are operating in a free health care system, not as private doctors?

I have had my eye on Dr. Osama Shaeer in Egypt for a while. He seems very skilled. He has published a ton of academic papers and is actually easy to get in touch with. During the two consultations I had with him, he came across as knowledgeable and kind.
He is also significantly cheaper than his American colleagues. But I have not yet seen anyone in here that had anything done by him. If someone here knows anything, please share!

I think I read about someone in here who had his implant done by one of the US top surgeons where his it became severely infected. He had to grab a plane ASAP to go to the US again for an emergency removal. So yeah, if complications arise, it is possible to go back, but it certainly is a heck of a long way and does add some stress.

And US doctors are really expensive. Guess I will have to start saving.

I didn’t compare them, I listed the surgeons you can contact in Europe.

I totally agree with your point of view. But the "free" logic has been expressed by several UK members here so the best I can do is relay that view.

Some national european national health insurances pay for the implant, some do not.

How is it in your countries?

In my country, penis implants are qualified as a “lifestyle product” by the national health insurance and are therefore not covered. A scandal, actually.
