Thanks, Duke! I originally planned for a Tactra as the sample in the clinic was a lot stiffer axially. Rigi10 was also stiffer axially. When I learned that I would be my surgeon's first (guinea pig) Tactra/Rigi10, I immediately switched gears and requested Genesis. :D

You were smart to make the request. When my doctor suggested the Genesis I jumped at the chance because of the hydrophilic coating on the Genesis. When he told me that I could have requested the Genesis if I wanted it, I said somewhat sheepishly that I didn't know I could! Evidence of how nervous I was.

So glad you finally took the leap, my friend!

Thanks Frank! Pre-implant VED length was 6 inches. Yes, I'm wrapped up. From the physician notes, penis L=5.6 and girth 5.4 after surgery with 22cm long and 13mm diameter rods. Rod length was short-sized on purpose by 1 cm with my consent to prevent extrusion as I've had T2D for a decade. I will measure again after I'm all healed up and cleared for action!

I think you haven't lost anything, on the contrary, if before you were 6" with ved, now 5.6", if we consider when you start having sex you start to get excited, the glans swells and increases at least 1 cm in length, it happens to me this is when I'm excited, even though my tips are very forward and they bother me, so if the measurements the doctor gave you of 5.6" are right, you haven't lost anything and you've had an excellent result, remember what circumference you had pre implantation?

Yes, I plan to continue the daily Tadalafil dose for engorgement. I didn't measure the circumference in the 6 weeks I was using the VED. The trial Trimix dose by my urologist gave me better girth visually compared to the VED, so I didn't feel that the VED induced girth was a reliable measurement.

LastHope wrote:Yesterday I became a proud owner of my Coloplast Genesis malleable. The surgery was a walk in the park.

I chose a local University Center or Excellence urologist for convenience. He isn't a famous high volume star, but has performed 100+ implants so far and a general urologist who does about two implants a month.

With Aetna health insurance, I didn't have luck with coverage, which mainly lead me to a malleable. Those 1% bad luck induced, super frequent IPP revisions could potentially put me in debt or force me to sacrifice other pleasures and needs of my family. I also felt it is the suitable option for my current work from home career, extremely introverted lifestyle and preference for revision-anxiety-free option, given my personal circumstances.

For now, I will reserve the inflatables and it's superior flaccid comforts, rigidity, aesthetics and girth expansion benefits for the future when:
-I have a fatter bank balance or
-I get superior private health insurance or
-I become eligible for Medicare after 22 years with decent health and immune systems

THANK YOU easymoney, mbambo and thedriver for your real-world experience, inspiration, encouragement, and for answering all of my (silly) malleable questions with your personal experiences when I was a complete newbie to this incredible option.

I hope I will like my Genesis and not develop erosion and infection complication. I'm feeling hopeful about my future and blessed by this surgical intervention. Thank you everyone for your continued friendship and love.

Congratulations dude. Best of luck with everything!

I find it so interesting that the Coloplast Genesis malleable seems to be growing in popularity.

I've made it my New Year's resolution to get this model. It seems to be the most malleable of the malleable implants and I've noticed pretty decent patient satisfaction with it from accounts I've read and studies I've seen. And although the satisfaction rates are maybe 10-15% less than with IPP's, the peace of mind in not worrying about malfunctions and revisions seems more than worth it.
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. I also have mild BPH

Sure thing! Drop me a PM in a week or two, hopefully the swelling will be down by that time.

Glad to hear that you're going with the Genesis too, Mark! According to Dr. Levine, the malleables are more common in Europe even though they have access to IPPs. Maybe there will begin a slow sea change here in the States.

I don't know how the studies/questionnaires were designed but I wonder how the MPP satisfaction questions are worded and assessed. If my penis isn't strictly physiologic in nature because it has a malleable implant inside it but I have completely satisfying sex on-demand with it and can conceal it without issue, then what? I'm not sure. Really curious.

I've attached an example of a study questionnaire design. I've excluded the 2 piece device section to reduce clutter, as most of us here are curious about the comparison between malleable vs 3 piece devices.
