Up's, Down's, distress, regret, hope. All seem to be part of the recovery process, your getting to the stage now where the pain is going to start dying down but the discomfort is going to take over. it shouldn't be too long for you now before you start feeling somewhat normal. I wont lie to you even at 5 weeks in im still getting odd aches as well as random shooting pains and parts feeling like their bruised ect but the pain im in now compared to 2 weeks ago is a massive difference. I can get through the day with no drugs, i typically only take them at night for a good night sleep. I do still feel like im using way more energy than usual and i am still often going for afternoon naps but i imagine for me soon this will all start changing.

Hang in there take one day at a time it'll be worth the effort.

Following in your footsteps, RMJ!

Day 19, Continues to Get Better

Happy New Year everyone!

Made it through the whole day yesterday without any pain medication. The worst thing is the chaffing of the hair growing back on the testicles, which makes it difficult to walk with clothing on. I decided yesterday evening to just walk around naked from the waist down and I also slept that way and I was much more comfortable. I’m actually starting to feel good about the implant and hopeful that I will get to enjoy it sometime soon!

Congrats!!! Thats a BIG step. I came off my pain meds a couple of days ago - I've been off the Narcotics since day 3. I imagine cycling will be SUPER painful so I'll have a few left over for then.

The chaffing is the WORST. For me it was the pubic region - I've shaved the testicles a few times before and my hair isn't too coarse so that was fine - the rest - not so much. BAD case of razor burn.

Sounds like you are over the hill from the worst bits! Very awesome!

Hey brother, look up in google lymphatic system, lymphatic massage etc, that’s how reduced my swelling myself, it’s just a gentle massage to yourself, penis, in between your legs scrotum and just all around the genitals, the swelling is just fluids trapped in there and you can help it circulate by gently massaging it away. I saw amazing results in just a couple of days, use a skin cream of your choice,

Good luck

My PC dr was in medical school years ago and Dr. Carrion sr. the inventor of the implant was her mentor. When I had my first surgery and was complaining about the pain and how long it was lasting she told me to massage the whole area over and over all day long. I did that and it sped up the healing process for sure so when I had my 3rd surgery and the pain was worse than the first 2 I massaged it twice as often and it seemed to help.
Rigicon since 6-2023 happy to share my experience and do show and tell

Day 24 Almost There!

This past Friday was three weeks since my surgery, which makes today day 24. The swelling of my testes is pretty much gone, I have a little swelling on the right side. I had glue strips added to the incision when this stitches were removed a week ago. I was told they would fall off on their own in 3 to 7 days. They are kind of half off and I tried to gently nudge them in the shower this morning. I was able to take off most of it because I saw they were just stuck on the hairs on either side of the incision. A bit uncomfortable, but not bad. There is still one glue strip on the bottom that I left alone because it is also covering the bottom of the incision.

I still have some swelling or a lump on the left side of my pubic bone, but it is less painful than it was. Not sure if this is where the reservoir is or possibly tubing? I am able to easily feel the pump, which seems twice as large as the model I was given (this could be because of surrounding tissue). Still a bit tricky to feel the release valve, I think I do, but I’m not sure. I am tempted to give it a few pumps, but then I am nervous I won’t be able to release the fluid. I have a doctor’s appointment in two days so I think I can wait another two days to get checked out and hopefully activate in the doctor’s office. Dr. Eid will be back from vacation and he will take a look. I’m interested to get his opinion, but I also love working with his nurse Practitioner who is very gentle and encouraging.

The most important thing is that I am starting to feel positive again, that this could actually work out for me. The recovery has been so difficult, plus this has been a very challenging year healthwise for me (angioplasty surgery for a brain aneurysm this past January) it has been tough on me mentally and emotionally. It’s still hard for me to fathom that I will be able to once again have intercourse, seems too good to be true, but I believe I am getting close! Thank you to everyone for your encouragement.

Update, 6 hours later: I was able to inflate and deflate several times! Only 3 to 4 pumps, but still… I can’t believe I’ve made it to the other side. You mean, after all this suffering, something good is actually going come out of all this? Yay!

Wooo hoo! Contrats Martin!

Hold off those two (now one) day! The important bit is being able to find the release. For me, I didn't ever have much if any testicle swelling so it was really easy to find - if you have ANY swelling - wait until a pro is there to help.

I hear ya on the 'I can't believe my life is getting back on track' mentality. I've had some bad years - but this implant - even with its challenges is a positive in my book!

Good luck!
