Coloplast Titan: Flat, Unnatural Appearance

I can relate to this because I was initially taken aback by the appearance. Im about 5 months post op now and the "surfboard" experience many have described on this board is subsiding, and it's slowly becoming more round. I find that if Im completely unaroused, it feels and looks more flat. But once you're aroused, more blood goes into the area and on the skin, it is basically back to the old days pre op for me. I find this to be a non issue. Just keep doing your daily inflating and things will look + feel better with time.

Martin25, you're finding out why I was so adamant to not measure until 3 months had passed. It can take up to 1 year, sometimes longer. For your implant & body to get accustomed to each other. Your pubic fat pad is swollen now so that makes your penis look shorter. My advice, quit checking it out. Just follow your drs orders. It will be what it'll be. Your job is to cycle consistently.

Good advice! And you’re right, my pubic fat pad is still swollen, especially the left side where the reservoir is… so much good advice on this forum; I guess only guys who have been through this know what it’s like. Thanks again.

Where was xyour reservoir installed? I thought Dr. Eid usually put it behind the pubic bone so it wouldn't bulge out.

I’m not sure if it’s behind or in front of the pubic bone, Dr. Eid did not say. He did tell me that because I am lean, It will be more prominent. He also said that it is tricky to install the reservoir with a penile scrotal incision because you have to do it entirely by feel. He also said he made sure my tubing would face down to make kinking and erosion less likely. Hopefully the bulge is partly from swelling, which will continue to go away. I had horrific swelling after the procedure, including testes that became like a purple grapefruit. Eid still isn’t sure why I had so much bleeding and swelling, but when I saw him several days ago, he speculated that it might’ve been from the body reacting to the reservoir.

As far as the flatter appearance - I don't know why a doctor would tell you one or the other implant would produce a different apparent effect since they BOTH work the same way - i.e. two tubes placed inside your penis. Thats going to create a flatter shape. Perhaps with the girth of the cylinders it MIGHT be a bit less flat when in a thinner member, but overall you are NOT going to have a round shape.

For me - its a non issue since my shaft was pretty "oval" and not as round as others - which in a way leads to a girthier feeling for those you are penetrating.

Didn’t expect such a flat/pancake look

After a very difficult postop recovery, I am thrilled to be able to activate pump on my own and deflate. That’s all great. However… I am a little taken aback by the size loss of a solid half inch and the flat look of the penis when it is firm. I was told by my doctor that the Coloplast Titan is superior to the AMS because the AMS had a flatter look, whereas the Titan when pumped up would be rounder. That is not the case for me. How is it for other men? Maybe as I’m able to get more pumps in it will be rounder? Right now I can get in maybe 10 pumps, manipulate a little and maybe two or three more. It seems firm enough for intercourse, which I hope to try out very soon, but certainly not hard as a steel rod or marble, as some of the men have mentioned. But I am only a few days in pumping….

Once I start having intercourse and finally experiencing enjoyment, I don’t think it will matter much, but I am honestly a little bit taken aback at the appearance, which is not that of a natural erect penis because of the flatness. I had gone in wanting an AMS, but, unfortunately, my surgeon, Dr. Eid, deals exclusively with Coloplast. Again, in the long run, it shouldn’t matter… I do feel that pretty much everything I was promised before surgery has not yet come to pass (size, easy recovery, appearance).

Recovery takes time with this thing. As long as you cycle etc everything will fall into place. When I woke up from my surgery I was disappointed. I got much length and girth growth. I cycled 2-3 times per day for one year and whatever issues I had, it all fell into place. I'm 2 years in Coloplast Titan and really couldn't be any happier. and it has felt like my original equipment for quite some time now. GL with it.

Well said. I had a fat pad so I lost more weight while Dr Perito had me massage the hell out of my pad for around 1 month. I dug as deep as I could and it was uncomfortable. Doing this did lessen the fatness and now my implant looks longer because of. I too panicked at the size when I woke from surgery. 2 years in Coloplast Titan and the growth was very good. Any issue I had resolved themselves over...Time.

I had surgery 51 weeks ago today and was implanted with the Titan. Dr. Clavell is amazing and I could not be happier with his skill and expertise. I, too, lost about .75 inches in length and easily that much in girth and yes, my penis is oval, not round. But, and this is maybe not typical, when I get aroused I still engorge like I used to before the implant. Not to the same, full degree, but there is definitely engorgement which is wonderful. My glans is much smaller than it used to be when erect, but I take 5 ml daily Cialis and that makes a huge difference on the glans engorgement for me.

Overall, I LOVE this thing and I use it every day. I'm hoping it lasts for years and years. Best of luck to you!
