71 years old. Wife of 45 years. Had Radical Prostatectomy June 2023 at Sloan Kettering NYC. Recovered well. PSA zero. As I have venous leakage, pills, trimix don't work. Working through some "minor" incontinence issues. Can achieve dry orgasm with flaccid penis. Meeting with Dr. Paul Perito in Coral Gables, FL soon. Impressed with his website and MTP video series. This forum has been helpful. I need some help/input to supplement what Dr. Perito will tell me.
- How does one make the final decision to proceed?
- Titan vs AMS?
- Recovery comments?
- Other comments which may be helpful?
Thank you
Implant for 71 Year Old
Re: Implant for 71 Year Old
Hi Golffla,
I am 69 and heading for a Malleable implant. For three reasons
1) More straightforward product/surgery
2) So, quicker recovery time
3) more cost-effective for the remaining time of life

1955. I have had ED for years. We were going for a Rigicon Infla10 in October 2024. Life got in the way (heart attack & stent), so we are now going for injections as a fill-in.
Re: Implant for 71 Year Old
Just my opinion, but without pre-existing conditions, I'd stick with the AMS product and would opt for the 3 piece.
I had mine when I was 80 and my wife of 64 years and I are using it more than ever.
I recovered pretty fast and tried it out carefully after 3 weeks.
Good luck, but just do it.

Re: Implant for 71 Year Old
73 now, have had my AMS LGX for 6 and a half years. Very happy with it. Perito should be very good. He's quick, keeps infections possibilities very low, and helps you know what to do to recovery. I live in the West, and didn't want to travel that far, but he would have been on my list otherwise.
I interviewed three different surgeons to find the one I wanted with:
1. Lots of experiences, thousands, not hundreds
2. Quicker surgery, leaving things exposed as little as possible
3. "Minimally invasive" approach for quicker healing time
4. Infrapubic surgery instead of peno-scrotal. This is up for debate, as I know others that absolutely did NOT want infrapubic, but it was important to me, again for recovery time and such
5. Quick "activation" and use. Some guys are left with inflated implants for up to a couple of months and can't use them. I was "activated" on day 8 and could start cycling on my own.
I had a small preference for the AMS LGX, which is what my surgeon did, but if he'd told me I should have the Titan, I would probably have done that.
I ended up choosing Dr. Edward Karpman on the west coast.
Good luck with your decision.
