Duel Implant 10 day post op Dr visit

Postby ronbstewart » Fri Apr 11, 2014 10:47 pm

My 1st post op dr visit today was going pretty good until he decided I needed to be deflated some. That hurt like HELL for 20 seconds or so, seemed like a life time, even thought of grabbing him by his winkie so he would know how it felt. The deflation did relieve some pressure. All in all everything is going good. I have been back in the office 4 days now, sitting hasn't been that bad, I purchased a round air cushion, by my chair is more comfortable without it. I'm still using condom catheters. My Dr has postponed activation of the AMS 800 until 5/12/14 and AMS 700 until 6 weeks post op. I have been on my Harley and Gold Wing trike for short distances, pain was noticeable, but not unbearable, I don't plan anything over a mile for a while.

I could sympathize with you on the slight deflation you had the other day. Last Tuesday , 5 days after my implant procedure, I had an appt at the surgeon's office for the same thing. Without an advance warning my doc grabbed my ever so sore and swollen sack, grabbed the release valve, an started firmly and forcibly pressing to release the fluid. Well in my 64 years I don't think I ever experienced more pain in my life than I did in those 15 over 20 seconds. When it was over he told me that that episode would be the most painful of the procedure.

Good luck with the rest of your adventure, hope the worst is over.

18 days post op now, everything still going good, still some discomfort down in the sack area from time to time. Feels like I have 2 or 3 balls too many down there. The AMS 700(ED) pump is on the left side and AMS 800 (Urinary Sphincter) control is on the right (I'm right handed) AMS 700 is sort of big and round while AMS 800 is a lot smaller and flat so there no problem telling which is which. Still dealing with some incontinence issues until it is activated on 5/12/14, but even that has become a lot easier to control since the operation. All and all even at this early stage I'd do it all over again with no 2nd thoughts at all.
