Coloplast Titan: Flat, Unnatural Appearance

6 weeks post op…still getting used to it, tried having sex twice…I say ‘tried’ because my gf was uncomfortable, especially the first time (she said it felt different) and I’m finding it a bit strange as well because I pump and it expands sideways (Hence the flat appearance) and gets stiff, but I am not quite at 3 o’clock, maybe at 3:30 o’clock and the base of the penis is not as firm or stiff as I would like, giving a bit of a hinge effect…so I slipped out a couple of times during the act. So, not quite close to feeling bionic yet, but I’m hoping practice makes perfect and that I’ll figure this out… After my extremely difficult recovery, with all the pain and swelling, I am glad I am past that… But so far, I’m a bit disappointed in the quality of the erection. Contrary to many posts by other members about the Titan, I actually think my flaccid appearance is much better and natural looking than when it is inflated. Based on what I had read and the size of my penis, I really wanted the AMS, but my surgeon, Dr. Eid,has some type of relationship with Coloplast and he only installs those. (That’s the real reason he only installs Titans…he claims that the AMS is only for men with very small penises, which everyone on this site knows is not the case)

Other members who are single have posted about how they had partners who could not tell they had an implant. I simply don’t see how this is possible; when inflated it does not look or feel natural at all.

I think you might mean 3:30 o’clock instead of 2:30, since 2:30 would actually point higher than 3:00.
I think that flat appearance is common for all inflatables, but with arousal and blood flow it becomes more round.

Regarding your concerns, I’ve had both the AMS and the Titan, and I personally feel much better with the Titan. Especially when erect, it feels more natural, rounder, and fuller compared to the AMS. The pump is also smaller, and when placed properly behind the scrotum, it’s very unlikely that a partner would notice it.

I’ve had multiple revisions and am now on my second Titan. My first titan was installed by Dr. Eid with no issues, and my current one is also problem-free—aside from the inevitable implant lifespan concern (ams with defective pumps failed after 6 months for two times, and first titan lasted 3 years). I’ve been with multiple women, both my age and younger (I'm 36), and none of them ever noticed I had an implant. I’ve had both vaginal sex and oral sex without any issues.

Now, I have a stable girlfriend, and I eventually decided to tell her after some months of relationship. She was completely surprised and said she she would have never guessed. To her, it feels exactly like a normal penis.

So, while there is definitely an adjustment period, with time and practice, you’ll likely get used to it and feel much more confident with it.

Pre-op, dr. Eid measured me at 5 1/2 inches and wrote it on a chart and said this is what I could expect. Post-op, lost about 1/2 inch. Dr. Eid said, “It is what it is.”

Thanks, I certainly hope so! I was feeling down yesterday when I posted, actually feeling a bit better today. The fact that you’ve had revisions and are still positive about an implant is very encouraging. I think Dr. Eid has stopped using the one touch Coloplast because of a higher failure rate.

You are correct. I had my first appointment with Dr Eid recently. He explained that he prefers the classic pump. He thinks the way it is engineered leads to fewer fractures of the tubing, fewer failures.

i've noticed more of an oval shape of my penis with the Titan for few years. More pronounced when inflate implant and not aroused. I feel like with wife I get more engorgement of the urethra and the glans which gives more a rounder look.

Doesn't impact function and wife loves it. In fact we usually don't go 100% because its just too hard.

Didn’t expect such a flat/pancake look

After a very difficult postop recovery, I am thrilled to be able to activate pump on my own and deflate. That’s all great. However… I am a little taken aback by the size loss of a solid half inch and the flat look of the penis when it is firm. I was told by my doctor that the Coloplast Titan is superior to the AMS because the AMS had a flatter look, whereas the Titan when pumped up would be rounder. That is not the case for me. How is it for other men? Maybe as I’m able to get more pumps in it will be rounder? Right now I can get in maybe 10 pumps, manipulate a little and maybe two or three more. It seems firm enough for intercourse, which I hope to try out very soon, but certainly not hard as a steel rod or marble, as some of the men have mentioned. But I am only a few days in pumping….

Once I start having intercourse and finally experiencing enjoyment, I don’t think it will matter much, but I am honestly a little bit taken aback at the appearance, which is not that of a natural erect penis because of the flatness. I had gone in wanting an AMS, but, unfortunately, my surgeon, Dr. Eid, deals exclusively with Coloplast. Again, in the long run, it shouldn’t matter… I do feel that pretty much everything I was promised before surgery has not yet come to pass (size, easy recovery, appearance).

I can certainly appreciate your concerns. I'm 2 years in Coloplast Titan and all is very well. This healing takes lots of time so don't worry and just make sure you do Perito cycling and bending.In time you will see everything fall into place. I had good growth both Length and width. I went through practically everything you are describing. My pre surgery complications were pretty serious which perito fixed everything and when I woke from surgery I was quite disappointed at the shape and size. Today it feels like my original. GL to ya.

It is WAY too early to be concerned! Give it 6 months and as things heal you could possible get a little or a lot of engorgement back. Early on during cycling mine was totally flat on top and bottom As there’s no excitement during cycling but as the months went on it gradually got much more round as it used to be. I also use cialis on sex days and notice a big difference! Not nearly as high a dose as I used to use but engorgement got great after the 10-12 month post op. If I were to pump up with no stimulation at all it would still be flat but with just a little rubbing and help from cialis it gets very full and round as it used to!! Just a 1000 times more reliable!
