8 days post-op

Got AMS 700 on April 17. According to the surgeon it was a textbook case.
Went into OR around 11:30, woke up in recovery around 1:00. Stayed overnight and released at 10 on Friday.
Was surprised there was no catheter - everything worked well.
Day 3 and 4 was when the swelling and bruising appeared but it started to go down by day 5 and now very little.
Took pain medication as prescribed and am now easing off - on extra strength Tylenol today.
Prescribed an antibiotic - 1 daily for 2 weeks.
Was most comfortable in a recliner chair. Not used to sleeping on my back so could only stay in bed for a few hours then back to the chair.
Used ice packs several times a day. Rolled up pair of socks did well as support under scrotum.
Pain - oh ya! Changing position was quite uncomfortable for the first few days - eased off now.
Most discomfort now is when I stand - pain in the scrotum - probably just trying to get used to all the extra hardware.
Left the hospital about 50% inflated.
Went back yesterday to see the surgeon and he deflated it most of the way - that was PAIN, not so much the pushing of the deflate button but when he squeezed the penis to push fluid into the reservoir - did it 3 times.
He said the pump was exactly where he wanted it.
Will go back week 6 to learn how to operate it.
Thanks for all the information you provided on here to help me get through it.

Congrats on what seems to be a better than the norm recovery. I was implanted April 3 with AMS 700 and it took me about 2 1/2 weeks to get to where you are. I was completely deflated yesterday and moving around was immediately better. I go back to surgeon in two weeks. I can't quite feel where the release valve is yet, it seems to be covered by something and is close to my testicle . Hopefully time will resolve this.

Continued good luck !
