33 years old at USC by Dr. Jeffrey Loh-Doyle. Had the operation early yesterday morning and am currently in the recovery bed. I've been fitted with the AMS 700 LGX. Overall, it has been an uncomfortable experience but (so far) it's not as bad as I expected! Doctor said that his work was "picture perfect" which was amazing to hear. He even said I could go back to the office this-coming Monday if I felt like it. I haven't even tried walking yet though so that's up in the air. As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm hoping to get back ASAP but my job is flexible.
Can't help but feel that the nurses are not sure what to think of me (especially the male ones) since I've had a penile implant but they've been great and I can't complain. I could just be being insecure haha.
I'm so relieved it's done with. I'm not looking forward to the next few days as I've always hated being couped up. What are some things you guys did to help pass the time?
Feel free to ask any questions!

Glad to hear the surgery went well.
I'm sure I read or watched tv to pass the time.
Get walking soon. I think I waited four days to walk further than around the house, and I was surprised by how quickly I had lost stamina and strength.

Update: I tried peeing for the first time without the catheter and my blood pressure dropped rapidly (vasovagal) from the exertion. I fell and hit my head on something which caused a laceration. I passed out again upon the nurses trying to help me to my bed.
This resulted in an army of medical professionals checking on me and getting a CT scan done on my head, checking multiple vitals, etc. I'm cleared and this happens on occasion with implant patients according to a doctor.
PHEW. I'm better but sheesh. Already kind of worried about my revision but that's jumping the gun I know.

Update: Experiencing urinal incontinence. Nurse determined that my bladder is very full with ultrasound device but I'm unable to urinate. They may need to use catheter again...

I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO PEE. I think the threat of the catheter having to be re-inserted really helped me psychologically

Haha, i passed out the day after my implant too, they got me up in the morning and told me i need to get to the near by chair as they have to keep me mobile. i got to the chair got some cornflakes put infront of me then passed out. i was discharged that day so its definately not a biggie they just wanted to monitor my bloods for a few hours afterwards to make sure it was a 1 off. I also couldnt pee, more like a little drip i ended up being re-cathetered and sent home, i hated it, 10 days later they removed it and i was fine, thankfully you dont need to go through that side of thing.

So sorry to hear about your fall and laceration!

I'm an RN and I can just imagine the dressing down your nurses got from their manager. Hospitals HATE falls and do everything they can to prevent them. They count the number of falls each year in each unit - and the unit manager gets reamed out if those numbers aren't going down. Falls is one of the things the Joint Commission looks at when a hospital comes up for its license renewal. In your case, what were you doing standing up to pee without a nurse there to assist you? In fact, what were they doing letting you stand up at all? They should have had you sitting preferably and using a urinal.
But glad to hear they're taking care of you and making sure you didn't suffer anything more serious than the laceration.

GM(73) ED for past 10 years. Before: 6.0"L, 5.5"G. After (30 days): 5.5"L, 5.25"G. AMS CX MS pump 18cm/17.5cm on 1/29/25 by Dr Clavell in Houston.
