Peyronies and Implants question?

Postby powderpowder » Fri Apr 25, 2014 12:32 pm

I am 20 years old and have Peyronies but with no curvature or pain yet, just an hourglass effect that isn't too bad. I am 5.5" hard and a good amount over 6" girth (talk about that for sizing haha)

But anyway, just anticipating for the future, due to my Peyronies I may lose size. I am very afraid of going under 4", I think id be able to deal with that but even then I would still feel bad, but whatever. If i were to get an implant is it pretty much set in stone that I would be at least 4" erect and with potential to grow more?

And when a guy with Peyronies gets an implant, is it possible for him to get his old length back, before he goes through shortening due to Peyronies?

Call Dr. Kramer at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. You may loose half and inch. Better to have it done now than wait. Things are not going to get any better on their own. Its not something that you will grow out of. Dr. Kramer is one of the best. I am sure there are other good docs out there but he is the only one I can recommend. Look up my previous posts on my peyronies and my implant.

I would have to disagree. I started attacking the condition early only 5 months after injury with Pentox and oral meds, which can definitely halt progression of the disease. If it does get too bad though, I will definitely consider an implant.

But as of right now, there are many men who can live with their Peyronies and still have a great sex life

I'm tending to agree w/ Proactive, tcasper and many others on here…. Dr. Andrew Kramer seems to be very high volume these days and is really superb.

But what youre saying is you wouldn't let peyronies run its course first? I feel like its course should def be run first to see how bad damage is before even considering surgery

powderpowder,
The general "rule-of-thumb" (used by most URO's) is to pull your flaccid penis straight out, as far as possible ... now look down, that is about the length size you will get from an erect Implant.

No I wouldn't let "peyronies run its course first" ...

But theres a good chance that i may not lose too much length due to peyronies or even have ED, which is why i am stating that id have to wait it out. Plus if you get surgery while you are in the acute phase it could cause complications because of the growing plaque. I am justcurious for peyronies suffers with implants if they got close to their length before peyronies with an ams lgx

I first noticed the bend and the hour glassing in sept 2012. By June 20th 2013 I was on Dr. Kramers table. Hence my name on here... Proactive. No problems after that for me. Your mileage may vary.

So you were still in the acute phase when you had this operation done? Was dr. Kramer and youre diagnosing urologist aware of this? I appreciate all of the help.......i am freaking out i will have nothing left to my flaccid stretched after peyronies strikes :( id rather have a 4 inch implant which could expand now than a 3.5 one that may not in the future

Yes Dr. Kramer was aware. He did not seem to be concerned at all. I am 10 months + post surgery. No issues at all. I read about waiting 12 months, that actually slowed me down by a couple of months, i kept reading everything I could and heard that you should wait 12 months from onset. after a few months I decided that I needed to get a doctors opinion instead of the internets opinion. I considered going to Dr. Milman at Vanderbuilt but Kramer was closer so I figured I would see him first and see how I felt about him. Withing 5 min of talking with him, I knew that he was the person who was going to do my surgery. I waited until last April before I went to see Dr. Kramer about it. I was on his table about 6 weeks after that.
