who has had both AMS and Titan?

Hey Wolfpacker,

By any chance can you please share you CX and Titan pics side by side? In your journal I see your Titan but not the CX? Your Titan pics look just great. I would be ecstatic to have a look like that. What was the thing you hated about the Titan the most, the dog ears, the front tips, the stretch when erect? And what do you not like about the AMS? I'm 6.25 inches bone pressed to tip and 5 inches girth at base and 4.5 inches mid shaft.

I think my penile tissue has definitely atrophied and thinned out since my pics of the titan were taken unfortunately - I'll try to get some with the CX for comparison purpose, but again I think my soft tissue has reduced so it's not exactly a fair comparison

Wolfpacker, did you consistently take 5 mg of daily cialis and still experience this tissue thinning you talk about? Were you generally keeping the implant fully deflated when not in use?

Separately, how did this thinner tissues affect your sex life?

I don't take the Cialis every single day but definitely several times a week. Kept the implant as deflated as possible when not in use, though it does have a tendency to auto inflate some on its own which probably doesn't help.

Sex and the pleasure feelings are definitely less now with thinner tissue down there. I still have sex of course but the overall enjoyment and urge to have sex is reduced because it just doesn't feel as good

Here is a research article showing "Revision Reason" and "Mean No. of Days until Revision
(range)". Summary no significant difference between AMS and Titan with regard to number of revisions. Titan was better for mean time to revision. Caveat of study: 1) Only a single study, 2) Average age is 69 years, 3) Only 542 sample size total.

Objective: Many patients who undergo inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) replacement
are often upsized to larger cylinders, suggesting the IPP may serve as a tissue expander
and increase internal penile length. The objective of this study is to evaluate whether
cylinder length increases with subsequent IPP insertion.
Materials and Methods: We queried American Medical Systems and Coloplast Patient
Information Form databases to identify patients who underwent IPP placement and
replacement between 2004-2013. Patients were grouped by device type and time to
replacement (<2 or ≥2 years). We selected the 2-year mark for subgroup analysis to
allow time for tissue expansion to occur and to exclude patients who underwent early
explantation (e.g. erosion or infection).


Results: Two thousand, seven hundred and forty nine patients (1,532 AMS 700 LGX,
717 AMS 700 CX, and 500 Coloplast Titan) met the inclusion criteria. Mean time between implants was earlier for LGX (29 months) than CX (39 months) and Titan (48
months) patients (p<0.001). Patients who underwent device replacement at <2 years
did not experience an increase in mean cylinder length. On the contrary, patients who
underwent device replacement at ≥2 years did experience significant increases in mean
cylinder length (LGX 1.2 cm, CX 1.1 cm, and Titan 0.9 cm, p<0.001). The mean increases in length at ≥2 years were similar between the 3 devices (p=0.20). Sixty percent of
patients demonstrated increases of >0.5 cm and 40% demonstrated increases of ≥1 cm.
Conclusions: As demonstrated, the IPP may provide tissue expansion over time. Further evaluation is needed to determine if increased cylinder length correlates to increased functional length and patient satisfaction.

1. Did the doctor say whether you can expect your tissues to expand again to some extent now that you have the narrower and less dog-ear prone CX cylinders?

2. f you had to put a number on it, by what percentage has your sexual pleasure decreased from baseline because of this thinning?

3. Have you encountered any other people on this forum or elsewhere complaining of tissue thinning? How many? I ask because I’ve been in the forum for a while and this is the first time I read of this complaint, even though I knew it was possible in theory. I want to gauge how common it is.

3. Dr Eid has mentioned it in an interview, that there is an atrophy of the glans and shaft tissue that happens with an implant
