Perito's Concierge Fee

Postby Howling8 » Thu Feb 20, 2025 11:39 pm

I'm made an appointment to fly to Miami and have Dr Perito do my revision. I was sent a form for a $5000 concierge fee. Do you guys thinks it's worth it?
Thanks

What is the fee for? Your insurance is paying why would you pay him a special fee?

I remember about a year ago. It was said that Perito was charging above the insurance rate. That is what happens when a dr gets more patients than he can operate on. The realities of supply vs demand.
Sad reality is that to a degree we've done it to ourselves. Too many internet fan boys singing his praise has driven the demand for him up too high.

Perito is a great implant surgeon. He makes a very good living off implants.

But when I see him trying to up-sell, looking for addition sources of income for himself, Urofill and concierge services, I start to mistrust him. So I would never go to him.

So what if I decline all the extra services? Would I then receive 2nd class attention and 2nd class results?

There was a video posted a while back of Perito performing in an OR. He was boasting about how fast he was with his surgery, and how he can jump from one OR to the next, while his assistance were doing most of the work. Looks like profits over patients to me.

Again, I'm sure he's a real nice guy and a very competent surgeon.

What does the fee cover? Perito is a great guy, I had an appt in his office and felt like I was talking with a friend and got great service from him and his resident he had in the appt with me. Definitely makes you feel like a VIP hanging out in his Miami lounge-like office with bar and sun deck, as compared with Dr Eid's tiny dark NYC dungeon office lol

It happened with my endocrinologist. She gained a lot of popularity and could no longer manage the patient load. Now she stopped taking insurance, offers cosmetic consults and operates like a Beverly Hills concierge doctor, that caters to Hollywood celebrities, with a steep annual fee, offering convenient/unlimited appointments and phone support.

Well stated.
We are living in an age where the more YouTube subscribers someone has, the more successful their practice becomes. Personality plays a big role too.

NYC is old construction and high rents. While I wasn't a particular fan of his handling of my consult, it's not so bad as New York offices go (really!).

Ouch! $5,000 is a lot of extra cash to spend when the surgery is already 20-30 grand. To me it doesn't matter if they have a fancy office or a hole in the wall as long as the work done in the surgery room is top notch. Do all of these favored name surgeons really do a better job than others who implant hundreds a year? My unknown doc says he does 2-5 every week.

Perito did mine 2 years ago. Great guy, great dr. I live here so I didn't need the extra services. Will you be traveling with someone? If you are then stay in a hotel. If you are going alone well....I'd consider the concierge.
