1 year living with an implant

Postby Tony=T » Mon Feb 24, 2025 3:27 pm

I started having trouble with my erection around my middle 60's. I tried viagra with very little success. I never tried the injections, sticking a needle in my penis didn't apeal to me. Developed Peronies disease at age 68. I did a lot of research and decided an implant was going to be my answer. I know from reading on frank talk who the top implanters in the us are but didn't think I would be comfortable flying to another state. I looked for a local uroligist who does a lot of implants and I found Dr Frank Simioncini in Gilbert, AZ. I made an appointment and he confirmed an implant would be the best option for me. After a few more appointments and test my surgery was scheduled. I went to surgery very nervous just like everyone else. Everything with the surgery went fine and I went home all bandaged up with a drain to be removed the next morning. After that appointment I was instucted to use pain meds as needed and ice for swelling. I followed the Drs instuctions and pain was easily managed with Tylenol and Ibuprofine.
I pretty much had the same feelings as everyone else after seeing my penis after surgery thinking OMG what have I done. Started thinking I should have flown to one of the big guys (not). My next appointment was 6 weeks later where I learned to inflate and deflate my implant. At that time I wasn't really in pain but it was sore to the touch so that was not a joyful experience. I was told at that point to start cycling my penis once a day, so the following day I started the cycling routine. The first time I did it on my own I was still a little sore from learning to cycle it, inflating it wasn't a problem at all but deflating it was another story. I think its like learning to ride a bike someone can show you or you can read the instructions but you are going to have to stumble through untill you get the hang of it. After about 6 months of cycling my size came back to what I was before and I think my girth is even bigger. It's been just over a year now and everything works as advertised. I think Dr. Simioncini did a great job, I'm glad I stayed local and I would definetly do it again. I think its nice to know that if something went wrong my Dr was right here.

Congrats on a successful year! Glad to hear it’s all gone well.
50. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Great post ! Always appreciate hearing the success stories since I'm on that path. I chose to have it done locally also after finding an experienced implanter with over 15 years of experience.

Congratulations Tony=T, I know it has been a year already but welcome to the Bionic Brotherhood.

I too started having ED problems but in my late 50's and early 60's, but viagra and cialis worked pretty well and then it started to wane at 62. I also had an enlarged benign prostrate and my urologist did a prostrate procedure first, before the implant and after that I had total ED.

I had mine done at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio,Texas the largest military hospital, when I was 63.
I felt at ease with my urologist who was an Army Major at the time, he did an excellent job and I've had great service for the last 3 years, hopefully it last for a long time. :D

Keep on enjoying your new Bionic Dick Tony,
