Question for guys who have had the implant for a decade plus

Postby Throwawaya320 » Mon Feb 24, 2025 7:24 pm

Injections work for me but I hate that they kill the spontaneity of the moment and since I’m only 26, this has severely affected my confidence. I know injections cause scarring over time but I also am now hearing that implants also cause atrophy and scarring overtime. As a young guy, I feel like I’m stuck when it comes to what to do next. I wanna have a great sex life but if I won’t be able to have any sex later in life from implant atrophy what’s the point? Are there any members on this forum who have had the implant for decades who can chime in? Have you experienced atrophy and are now dissatisfied with the implant?

I was just implanted and way older so can't help you directly - but I have a couple suggestions.
1) I'd create a new post with that question in the Subject "Has anyone had an implant for more than 20 or 30 years?" and use those contacts to see what their life experiences have been.
2) I'd do a phone survey of mid and high volume implanters to get their feedback and expectations.

Best wishes !

I saw your other posts wolfpacker on atrophy. How many yours would you say you have left of implant usage before the atrophy becomes to much to adequately use the implant?

No wait. I have to guess you are speaking about tissue thinning. But.. that i'm aware not being oversized will avoid that, and also i still have to hear about someone not being able to use an implant anymore because of this. Tbh i have heard about a lot of young guys implanted and i'm not sure if this if going to be a problem everyone is going to experience at some point (but I hope not)

I asked the same question a guy who was implanted in 1998 with malleable. He said that he don't see signs of atrophy or tissue thinning. And he still have engorgement.

Anyone have scientific evidence that implant atrophy is a thing?

I doubt you'll hear from any guys who have been implanted for more than 10 years. Not because there aren't any guys out there who have been implanted that long, but because they are busy using it like sex has always been in their life. The big thing though is no matter if a hundred guys replied saying my implant is 10+ years old, it will have nothing to do with how well an implant will work or last for you.
Find a good doc, get implanted, enjoy sex now. Down the road is the future where implants might be improved, surgery techniques may be revised, and you've enjoyed many encounters.

I think this is a question for experienced doctors, not random brothers on a message board.

But the one bit of advice I can give you: it’s generally a bad idea to make decisions today based on what you *think* might be the case 20 or 30 years from now.

Even if there were evidence that guys implanted 20 or 30 years ago were having trouble with erosion (which I think is a big if, but ask your doctor), we have very little idea of what the medical science is going to look like in 20 or 30 years. We’ll likely have things like tissue regeneration in the next few decades. Could be in 20 years doctors can regrow you a brand new fully functioning flesh dick. At the very least, if there is evidence of erosion over time, the implant companies and doctors are likely working on how to reduce that.

Take care of your body, but live your life today.

Be well, Leto
50. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.
