Mark, are you circumcised?

I was not, and the subcoronal method didn’t go well for me, lots of swelling below the glans and a lengthy, tough recovery.

I spoke with a malleable doc in Brazil, and he also confirmed from his experience.

I noticed this in Rigicon’s malleable brochure, great job, Rigicon! I wish Coloplast Genesis had included it too, my surgeon wasn't aware of this contraindication.

"Uncircumcised patients may have an increased risk of postoperative complications with the sub-coronal approach. Surgeons may wish to discuss performing a circumcision to reduce the risks of post-operative complications associated with this approach."

She absolutely loves to give oral, very talented at it, and has never had anything negative to report on the oral side of things, and Mark, you should know by now when you ask me a question, you might get a picture with it,,,lol..

Well I did ask for it. :)

Good to see it looks sturdy. Yours is thick too, I think I'm looking at 11 mm rods since my penis is more petite. It has me contemplating requesting the Tactra since my surgeon is pretty open to patient requests, but you guys with the Genesis seem content and that is Dr Levine's suggestion if I get a malleable (talked to him last Tues)

As far as size of the implant, the surgeon will give you everything he safely can without chances of complications I'm sure.
And as far as the brand, I don't know, I wouldn't have to be married to the idea of a Genesis, they have been around the longest I think, but at the same time I the other brands have pro's and cons too them also.
I went with the Genisis because the surgeon recommended that brand,, that was the easy decision,,, the hard decision was a IPP or MPP, once you make that decision I guess I would leave it up to the surgeon as to what he mainly use's and recommends.
After 4 Titan IPP failures within 4 years I finally wised up and went to the Malleable Genesis 23cm- 13mm implanted 2-1-24 and no regrets so far.
For those that are asking, I'm going to change the wifeys avatar weekly.

Hi Duke,

I'm considering a malleable in the future. Can you tell me which model and size you went with? Also if you dont mind, let me know what your size was pre/post surgery.

I'm ok losing size, just want to know generally what to expect going into it if I need a revision in the future. Currently have a titan.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

I'm circumcised. Sorry to hear about your complications and hope things are working well now
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. Surgery scheduled 5/19/25

I have the Coloplast Genesis, 11mm rods. I don't recall the length but my surgeon said it was the largest one available in the 11mm size.

I was about 6.75" before surgery, when maximally aroused, and around 7.5" when fully VED pumped and bone-pressed. After surgery I'm still the same length. Girth changes day to day, mainly because of temperature or arousal. But I'm around 5" girth, which is basically the same as before.

Like you, I was okay with the prospect of losing size. I'd rather have a functional penis than a slightly larger one with erectile dysfunction. But I really don't think I lost any size. If I did, my measuring tools don't really pick it up.
Born 1990. ED since age 20 after a bicycle accident. Coloplast Genesis malleable implanted December 2024. Read my implant journal here.

If you're Petit now and go with 11mm you will be more Petit after .
I was 6 inch girth before and had 13mm rods ,I'm now 5 inch girth .
why the cheap on the girth of the rods ,I don't know . ridge con has 14 and the shaw has 15 . but the shaw [in indida] has no bend memory .

Awesome! Getting a circumcision after 8 weeks cleared up the swelling for me. I wish I’d gone for it earlier or at the time of implantation itself.

The Rigicon Rigi10 14mm isn’t for sale in the US. Who knows why! I hope they’ve got solid inventory outside the US.

The Shah from India has a flexible silicone hinge design that makes bending even the 15mm rod during surgery a lot easier. A brilliant design, but the company never really took off beyond the shores of India. Maybe its the cost of using quality raw materials and running clinical studies for getting FDA approvals. Good for them in a way, they don't want a pair of silicone rods with differential rigidity at the price of a used car.

Concealability and bend memory get tricky with higher diameters, and I guess manufacturers don’t want to bother investing bigger sizes for the minority who are girthier. Also, it has higher odds of rookie surgeons sticking in an oversized rod to please the patient who is a sizing freak.

Plus, there’s the obvious nudge toward IPPs, especially with Medicare's sure shot IPP reimbursement. Since Shah doesn’t offer an IPP, they’re better focused on 'MPP enthusiasts'.

the shaw is interesting, i should look into it more jut out of curiosity , for me HA fillers and a new malleable would be about the same if i went to india or egypt , but Ha fillers would be easier and have more result for adding back girth . and im not up for anther surgery
