I tried pills PLUS injections for a number of years. The pills gave me a headache, and the injections gave me a deep ache in the pelvis. Initially I got hard, but I would quickly lose the erection because 1) my head ache was pounding, 2) my pelvis and my balls ached 3) I was constantly worried that I would lose my erection.
The fact is that I had a venous leak that no amount of Tri mix injection was going to overcome. Plenty of blood coming into the penis, same amount going out.
For men that have insufficient blood coming into the penis ( with no venous leakage), injections can work, and at a dosing strength that doesn’t cause pain.
If I were you, I would try injections for a short period before getting implanted, but I wouldn’t waste time chasing it.
How common is it to skip injections and go straight for implant?

Re: How common is it to skip injections and go straight for implant?
I skipped injections, I had went to see my military urologist about prostrate problems with peeing and they had a questionnaire asking about other sexual problems and I just opened up and answered everything that I was having a problem with.
I wasn't too thrilled about doing injections and my military doc didn't say that he wanted me to try them, after I told him about the kinds of problems I was having with erections.
They gave me a Boston Scientific cure for ED video to watch, I talked to my wife about it and decided that would be the best option for me and her.
I had the Boston Scientific Rezume procedure to shrink my benign enlarged prostrate. I had total ED after the procedure, nothing would work, it was depressing to go those three months without sex. I can't imagine what some of the guys on FrankTalk have went through on their long journey of nonexistent erections. I waited 3 months before I got my implant.
I believe that the military didn't really want to go to the injections because I'm thinking the military health care system wouldn't cover the injections, but they did cover the pills.
Best decision ever, I don't have to take a pill and wonder if I'll get lucky with my wife. I don't have to worry about what to eat when I want to take a pill to have sex, those days are over.
I just say Honey do you want some action tonight and viola instant hard on after pumping up.
I love it,
SWorks

I skipped injections because I was taking an excessive amount of Viagra and my urologist knew I'd do the same with injections. Better to get to the final ultimate solution that makes life a lot easier.

The documented, proven treatment options are:
Pills, VED + constriction ring, shots, implant.
Everyone goes through the options that interest them.
I had ZERO interest in VED + constriction ring. It looked uncomfortable, was really time limited, and inconvenient.
That’s a valid choice.
Some guys have ZERO interest in sticking a needle in their dicks.
That is an equally valid choice.

Thanks Nico, how did it all go?
43, ED since late 20's, Pills on and off since then increasing strengths with inconsistent results. Now 5mg Cialis daily and either 20mg Cialis or 100mg Viagra
Not sure if it's Psychological or Physiological, long-term use of SSRI's probably hasn't helped

I was happy to try injections because, no injection no erection. Surgery seemed like a big deal, with risks. Now having done it after injections stopped working, I wish I could go back and get the implant immediately after my prostatectomy.
Prostatectomy 1/2021 @ age 62

Hi, I'm currently healing at home. Doesn't hurts that much, inconfort in scrotum, on the left side (where the reservoir was placed) and some warmness at my penis. I was not really much inflated so when I place my dick straight up, I feel the dog ears at the base of it.
All the meds give you an intestinal and stomach disconfort too.

I can't imagine how shitty you guys must have felt dealing with this for years or decades.
Until you have a rock hard erection that can outlast any 18 year old kid -you truly won't understand how incredible this technology truly is
Best gift I ever gave myself.
Period.
Love your post, Hikerman. I’m 51, never had prostate cancer and my lab results show I’m unlikely to ever get it, but I really identify with how you feel. I’m not really sure why my erections just stopped working ten years ago, but it probably had something to do with my Testosterone dropping to “near-castrate” levels. It took months to sort myself out back then - years, really - and TBH I never really did get back to where I was before, just happy enough as I rarely had mishaps in bed after the first couple years. But I remember those first three months or so before I began to be able to have somewhat normal sex again were Hellish.
Now I’m back where I was again, wondering if I want to go through another few months of Hell hoping things will resolve (I have a feeling they might), or just throw in the towel and get the goddamn implant. I know it’s the only way I’ll ever get back to just being able to have sex without any anxiety again. And I sure would like to be able to rail my wife until she can’t take any more, whenever, wherever, and however she wants.
The last 6-7 years or so have been… GOOD, but not what they were. 99% of the time, sex was a little anxiety inducing at first but ended up just fine. It’s been so long since sex wasn’t at least a LITTLE scary for me, that I’ve kinda forgotten what it feels like to not have anxiety be part of the equation. Would really like to feel that again before I die.
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".

Thank you.
I understand having trepidation regarding an implant.
And YES, there are risks.
But those risks can be mitigated largely by choosing the best high volume surgeon
in your Area.
We're not getting any younger and if I was in your shoes I wold move for the implant.
Here are some things I love about mine.
1. I can keep going indefinitely. Meaning even if I get my nut -I can still pound away
relentlessly until my wife is crosseyed.
2. My size is much larger flaccid fitting into a pair of jeans.( I do notice my package being checked out more)
3. Climbing out of a cold pool and NO SHRINKAGE

4. The state of mind this implant gives me is mind-boggling. I can fuck for hours and hours and I feel like
I have superpowers.
5. The best of all of these is the self-confidence I have.
I KNOW I can get the job done anytime, anywhere or anyplace.
This is PRICELESS.
Best wishes on your journey.

Re: How common is it to skip injections and go straight for implant?
My Doc said if I skipped the injections it would be smart as injections come with their own risks and possible further damages. It was my idea to make the skip. I just never thought I would be able to stick a needle in my cock. The Doc did stick it during a first interview to evaluate my erection and he came back into the room after like 20 minutes and looked over my modest woodie and said “ you’ll have an excellent result with an implementation “ that is all I needed to hear!
