Houston to see Clavell

Postby Courage » Thu May 01, 2025 10:33 am

Travelling in near future for appointment. Given my situation I decided I'd rather not do telehealth so he can examine IRL.

If anyone is in Houston area, any suggestions for barbecue in what appears to be a western suburb? I'll have a few hours to cool my heels.

I find Eater.com pretty reliable for finding “best of” lists for types of foods when I’m traveling. And their list can be shown as a map so I can skip looking at places that are too far away.

Check out these: Truth BBQ, Brisket and Rice, Killens in Pearland location, Pit room BBQ, Pinkerton's BBQ

Texas BBQ best in the world. Enjoy.
55 years. Using bimix 0.4 units. Works well but inconsistent and very inconvenient. Seriously considering an implant. 6.4 inches bone pressed length to tip, 5 inches girth base, 4.5 inches girth mid-shaft.

Sadly I didn't have time to go to one while in Houston--or so I thought. Nightmare getting back including spending a night at the airport on Friday. Things so bad at IAH I ended up taking a commuter flight to DFW and coming back by Frontier late Sunday night.

I did stop at Pecan Lodge in Dallas which is sadly not what it once was.

Pecan Lodge is definitely not what it used to be. Cattleack bbq is the place to be in Dallas and Goldee's in Fort Worth.

How was your visit to Clavell? Are you going with CX or Titan?

It went well. I like him much better that my first surgeon, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up on things like sizing, despite his being somewhat encouraging, without making promises.

I'm not decided yet on who to have do revision. I have an appointment with a local guy Clavell mentioned and I'm going to try to get in an appointment with Hakky. Then I'll decide. I want to feel like I've done my due diligence.

I did visit both. Let me know what you think of Hakky vs. Clavell. When do you plan to visit Hakky and have you lost length and girth?

I just made an appointment near end of month. I lost both, in significant quantities, though my old surgeon and Clavell were encouraging that I'd get back size with a revision to an IPP. The old surgeon said he had to be conservative with the malleable because of the infection.

If you aren’t already using a VED and traction device, consider it. I used a VED each morning while I was showering. Just a cheap on bought on eBay. When the water got in the valve ruining it (they died about every 6 month) I just bought another ($15) one. But I was able to be consistent by making it part of my morning shower routine.
Then in the last 2 months I wore a Phallosan Forte traction device. By using their strap that goes around the leg just under the knee the device was hidden under my clothes. I wore it 10-16 hours a day. Not painful, but a hassle to take off/put on every time I had to take a piss.
I know I gained length by adding the traction. My VED measurement increased when I added it. Less than a cm but a definite increase. And if that was enough for my surgeon to round up to the next size up, great.
And most of all, it gave me peace of mind that I had done everything in my power to have the best result and reclaim the maximum I could from the atrophy ED caused.

Clavell mentioned VED and I got one off Amazon. Will look into traction.
