Hi there!
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer April/10 with a 3+4=7 Gleason. Underwent a Robotic RP July 22/10.
Nerves moderately spared on right side only
Pathology showed extension beyond the prostate and Gleason score 4+4=8
psa at surgery 10.3 post surgery 9 weeks .72
Underwent 33 radiation treatments.
I have been on 5mg of Cialis regular three weeks post surgery. Nothing happpening. I have a manual pump that can get me somewhat semi-hard with lots of work. Can feel some activity which is hard to explain in the groin area but not much else.
Question is. What pumps do most Men find the best and injections? How are they going? My therapist is deathly scared of priaprism.

I will share my doc's advice to me. Begin with the least invasive solution and move toward the more invasive. In short, that would be pills, pumps, shots, and finally implant. Pills didn't do much for me and after 3 years of various pharma combos, he promoted me directly to injections in November. Working well so far. Not saying this is the right thing for you. Just saying what I did.

I have heard all kinds of combinations of injections. Bi-mix, trimix etc. Are these tailored for each individual or do they just work you "up" to a point to see what works best? My therapist seems teerified of Priaprism but I heard mention of one member here who used sudafed to aleviate this. Also I understand curvature can be a side effect? Thanks.

I'm not a pharmacist, nor do I play one on TV, but here's what I think I know about injection therapy.
Bimix = papavarine + phentolanine
Trimix = bimix + prostaglandin
Quadmix = trimix + atropine
Also know that Alprostodil is the pharmaceutical name for prostaglandin. And that Alprostodil is the sole ingredient of two brand name drugs: EDEX and CAVERJECT.
Yes, Sudafed (or generic) is commonly used to assist with taming the beast if the erection lasts too long. However, beware of Sudafed if you are diabetic or have BPH.
Yes, bimix, trimix, and quadmix can be formulated with different proportions of their respective ingredients. That's one reason they are made by a compounding pharmacist--so they can be customized per the doctors instructions. My doc gave me a pretty standard mix of trimix and told me that the mixture could be modified if needed.
I can also tell you from my own experience that it took some experimentation for me to get my dosage low enough for the erection to dissapate ina timely manner. The first few times, I still had a chubby after 6 or 7 hours. Now during that entire period, Little G was slowly fading, but i had enough wood even after 2 and 3 hours to be, shall we say, fully functional.
After having nothing but softies for over 3 years using pills, all I can say is this: Dude, it's worth a shot.

Hope this helps. And now some other guys doing inejctions should add their 2 cents plus maybe tell the down side. Anyone?

I have an Osbon ErectAid Esteem pump. I really, really like it and think it has helped me a great deal. Because I got a very late start; my surgeon didn't really care about erections, I was surprised with the effect the pumping has had. The Osbon is expensive and your insurance probably may only help a little. However, I do consider it a good investment. Adding the pumping to your pills may give you a cumulative, positive effect. Adding some injections may also help.

Don't be afraid to try, in consultation with your doc, any and all of these. And if your doc doesn't care about ED, then consider getting a new and better doc!! All of us guys are different and improve at different rates with varying results. Join the chat and seek advice, humor and encouragement. You are among friends.

I am trying a "low budget" VED I got at a local love shop. It takes a while to get the blood flowing but after about a 20 minute on and off I get a semi erection. Problem being is constriction. It won't stay up with the rings I have. There are so many devices out there and the price varies so much its like which one do you choose? There is a Pos-T-Vac, Encore, Osbon and so on. I want to eventually try to have sex this way and move on to injections. Right now I want to keep the blood flowing to my best pal!! In Canada medical will not cover any devices. I will enquire with my private insurance but I think that will be useless. I don't mind to spend the money but I would like to make sure it works. Anyone with comments would surely help. Thanks.

They have the best customer support on the market. You can call and talk to "Bill" and "Alice" is a therapist for women. This company has a less expensive OTC model which is just fine.
use the pump you have just for therapy. Pump up at least twice a day - pump up in stages...a little more each time. Don't try to fully engorge all at once.
Hold each stage for a few minutes, then let out the pressure. Just listen to your body and don't overdo it.

I bought the Stamen pump from usamediquip for $200. It came with everything i needed, including the foam sleeves. Within a week i could have sex with my wife. it is the best $200 I have ever spent. Way better than pills. I practice for 15 mins. , 2x per day. I just ordered some Osborn rings to try with it. After alot of experimenting, I found that the larger of the two foam sleeves works better for me getting bigger and harder. But by the same token, the tightest constriction ring keeps me hard better. With the foam sleeve on, the tight ring is not uncomfortable. So my advice to new pumpers is: Spend time really learning to do this right and find your own best results trying different sizes of sleeves and constriction rings. After 2 weeks now, I am very happy with the results, but I did work at it too. It is definitely worth the trouble. If you have not had good results with pumping, i would suggest trying again, with a foam sleeve ( dont go too conservative on the diameter), but when it comes to the osborn rings , get the tightest D ring. Believe me, with the sleeve on, the ring will be just fine. I am about 5 1/4 " when hard and the D ring ( Erecaid Pink Band ERECAID "D" Medium, Pink High Tension with inside
ring diameter (19mm) 0.75" StayErec™ Tension Rings) was very comfortable. The A and B rings were not tight enough for me. I have not tied 2 rings yet.
