TomFord,
congratulations! Kramer is indeed a fantastic guy- I really looked him in the eye and felt he truly cared for me. Super guy, he actually walked over and saw me for a post-op visit in my hotel. Anyway, some people have more pain the night of the procedure, for me the night was the worst. By the next day it was all better. Hope you have a similar experience (minus the pain at night!). SB

I was just about to address the pain.

In the last 2 hours things have gotten very very painful. 8-9 out of 10. I must be 12 hours post op. I'm having my pain medication doubled to help and something to aid sleep. No chance I could sleep in this much pain.

I emailed Dr Kramer and he reassured me everything should be ok. I would consider myself to have a fairly high pain threshold, 200lbs plus and taken manys of hard hits in rugby and broken bones but for the moment this is on a different level.

Some reassurance from you guys that has experienced this and that it's normal would be great.

Thanks men. I know this will be all worth it in the end.

I'm getting my 2nd shot of morphine. The pills aren't doing anything for the pain.

Tis going to be a long night.

I went through 4 shots of morphine throughout the night. It's now 9:00am, 24hours after surgery and everything feels a whole lot better. The pain has largely subsided, bandages are off and the catheter is out.
I'd say ill be checking out of the hospital in an hour.

It's good to know the worst is over.

The morning of day 3:

I'm in the hotel and everything is rapidly getting better. I'm no longer talking any pain medication. The thing causing me the most discomfort atm is in my abdomen where the reservoir is located. It hurts when getting up from a laying position to sitting up and also while walking. It's not terribly bad though.

I'm amazed at how little swelling and brushing there is on my package. The shaft has almost no bruising. My balls are quite swollen but as I said I was expecting much worse.

The only parts of this journey which have been bad so far was the 9-18hour period post op where the pain was horrendous and secondly trying to piss after I had the catheter out. They were almost reinserting it because I couldn't go for so long but eventually I got the valve open :)

Other than that it's been fine. A small price to pay for the outcome IMO.

I'll try and post a pic on here later of the old tig and giggleberries.

Also, I can't speak highly enough of the staff at the Medical centre in Baltimore. They honestly couldn't have been better. And Dr Kramer came and saw me 5 times post op and again in the morning. The man is fantastic and has made this whole experience so much easier.

Good luck all.

I am 7 days ahead of you and surprised you have had pain from the reservoir I was and am a little tender, but no pain. Still have not found a way to walk without feeling the movement and discomfort I Agee with you on your assessment of Dr. Kramer and staff. He made me at ease the whole time even though I lost everything in my stomach while talking with him.

The pain from the reservoir is quite intense. It's stopping me from walking freely and bending over is very painful. Dr Kramer at my request said he tucked it deep in my abdemon to conceal it very well as I usually carry low bodyfat so maybe that's why. I'm sure it'll settle in a few days.

I've been wearing the jock strap for the 3 days which has kept things in place down there with very little discomfort.

How's your swelling and bruising?

Based on my experience, it will rapidly improve in the first week, then a steady improvement from that point on. Your description so far sounds right in the ballpark of what to expect - you are doing fine. Again, congratulations on taking this big, life changing step. Ultimately I think you are going to be very pleased with the results, but take your time to heal and follow Kramer's instructions exactly. Once you are up and running, it's just crazy good - you are going to feel like superman and are going to have a lot of great experiences with your new tool. It's a whole new world for you - enjoy every minute, and keep us posted...

I read on on one of the post about wearing two pairs of boxer short would help. I tried yesterday and indeed it does add a bit of comfort when walking and setting.
