I think I've found the problem. The syringes the doc prescribed for me have 1/2" needles. Based upon advice in this forum, as well as from my experience giving my ex-wife injections for allergies, I inserted the needle right up to the point where the syringe was in contact with the skin. Someone here suggested inserting so far as to "dimple" a bit.

On the last couple of dates I didn't get anything on the first try, and so tried again.

I tried a test yesterday and got nothing. I was 100% certain I'd hit the right spot. I got to wondering if maybe I wasn't going right through the corpus cavernosum and out the other side. I called my doc and he said I should only be inserting the needle halfway. So I was right.

I don't know why he prescribed 1/2" needles instead of 5/16".

Don , very possible you went right through , get some 31g needles and you'll have much better luck......I promise .

FWIW: I have shot close to 70 times with a 30 g. 1/2" needle and only 2 misfires.

Did you insert the needle right up to the tip of the syringe?

I use the 1/2"er and sometimes when it's fully inserted, I can't draw a bit of blood. If I withdraw it a little it sometimes I see blood coming into the syringe. I suppose I create a partial vacuum and when blood is available, it enters it?
At other times, I seem to need the extra length to get through the tunica.
I guess it's still a work in progress?

Yup.

Also, as suggested on this forum, I always get a semi before sticking as it seems to go through that tough sheath easier, plus gives you a bigger target. But for the first 6-12 months after surgery I couldn't GET a semi no matter what I did. But the Trimix still did its job even injecting when totally limp.

Well, another failed attempt today. I used a 5/16" needle. I got a little plump, but not a lot. I tried to feel around for the best spot, one where it was behind the halfway point and where it felt like I would be going into the spongy tissue. Usually when I hit the right spot, I feel a burning at the tip of the penis by the hole (forget the medical name). I didn't feel that this time.

It has to be the angle. If not, what?

After about 45 minutes it started to plump up a bit, but no firm erection. I was concerned to see that it was curving to the left, but figured that just could have been because it wasn't fully erect yet.
