Going to Urologist about ED

Once I go to urologist this Tuesday, can anyone tell me how long it took between the consultation and the actual operation? Im not suffering from physical ailments like prostate cancer or abnormal curvatures. I have Diabetes that is well documented. Im anxious to get started and want to know how long a wait I have. Would appreciate any/all feedback.

You sound like you're in a super rush to have the operation. Which raises some questions. Do you know this urologist's reputation? How many penile implants does he perform a year? Have you considered getting more than one urologist's opinion?

I am anxious not impatient. The Dr who will perform the operation is a military Dr who performs these types of operations on returning war heroes. I work at a Base hotel where the family of these heroes stay. Being a Veteran, I have common bond with these folks and I know several guys who have had surgery by this Dr and are very pleased. They would not be able to father children the "old fashioned way" without his help. Having said this, his bed side manner and my comfort zone with him will be the key. If Im not get a warm fuzzy from him, I'll seek a second opinion. If I my ask, how long did it take you from the Drs' ok to the operating table?

With the first one I had to wait until my insurance approved it. That was a couple of weeks. Then the delay was finding a time that I could take off and that the doctor had an opening. Which happened to be about two months.
My last one was just a couple of weeks wait. I've had three implant surgeries in six months. The initial one and two redos. Which is why I urge not rushing.

It's all about negotiation. When you're heading a big center like University of Maryland with Dr. Kramer or Hahnemann in Philly with Dr. Garber or Vanderbilt with Dr. Milam you might agree upon a date with investigation and immediately following operation, if there's nothing standing against it. You know there are lots of people flying from Europe to the US experts, and they won't fly twice, once for being inspected and once for being operated. They get it all-in-one.
As for the "warm fuzzy": You should not fall in love with your surgeon, you should just trust him and his abilities.
