Charlie999 wrote:Hi HH, Welcome to our group. Having read your partial history, I realize it was much like mine and many others here. I am now 4 months post op, and can only say this is the most life changing and blessed thing, and I really encourage you and your wonderful wife to move forward, so you can experience the new life. I cannot adequately explain how this has so changed the lives of both myself and my wife. We look back at the ED nightmare, and pray that we never have to enduer even 1 day of it again. I was activated 4 weeks post op, and our first sexual event was like Heaven opening its doors. We will all be praying and hoping for the very best outcome for you and your wife, so that you both may experience what all the brothers here have.

Goof Luck and God Bless,

Charlie

You guys with the life changing results are indeed fortunate. Our first sexual event after I healed was a total failure - due to ED we had been asexual for years before the implant, and my wife had lost interest following menopause. My libido had also dropped to zero following a stroke. On our first (and only, as it turned out) attempt my wife begged me to stop after a few seconds (not because of discomfort, but because she just didn't want to be doing it), and that was the end of it. If I had gotten the implant several years earlier when I first needed it, it probably would have saved our sex life. We have discussed counseling, but my wife is adamantly opposed and I never feel well enough to be interested either. I always advise guys who need an implant to get it sooner rather than later - you never know what the future is going to bring.

Well, 15 days to go now. I've had all my blood drawn, EKG is set for this Friday, tickets are booked, and all is set. Antibiotics have been called in and I will start taking them on Thanksgiving

This waiting is killing me, but I am looking forward to Thanksgiving to be a good distraction, and my wife and I are looking forward to a couple of days in San Francisco before the surgery.

I've been stretching almost constantly every day, and have measured an increase from a month ago of about a centimeter, so that's not a negative. Honestly can't wait to not have to wear that stupid thing, but it works, so I shouldn't be complaining that much.

Good luck to everyone else going through this, or healing, or thinking about getting it done!!!

Hi, you said you were stretching daily or constantly. What do you mean by "stretching". Just curious. I am scheduled for Dec. 16. I can hardly wait.

Hi guys I am 58 6 days going on 7 post op. Coloplast Titan. I know it is worth it in the end but to the Hammer and all the rest it should be noted that the first week will be the worst pain of your life. To those that "claim to not take pain mess I can only say I doubt it or you are way stronger than most of us. I knew it was going to hurt already surviving over 10 major surgeries but for the members that make light of the pain I think they are in never never land. My doctor was Dr Harold Reed in Bay Harbour Florida. He only made one cut in the scrotum and stuffed everything in. I told him I had a history of opiate dependency since I was in my teens and had only been clean 45 days. We agreed on Tramodol. He gave me 20 which lasted three days. I was dying to eat a handful of Roxie's or MS Contin 30's that I brought to the hotel just in case. I touched it out on the Tramodol. Day 4 I asked for more. He gave me a whole 15. I told him yesterday after an excruciating 5 days that I only had 7 left and didn't want to take the pain mess. He told me he couldn't give me more and to take my opiates. Why I have no idea other than maybe he was afraid I would get to liking them idk. Anyway we agreed on a strong anti-inflammatory which seems to have helped quite a bit. It is a six day med pack called Methyprednisolone 4mg. I strongly advise getting these because after two days on them the swelling and pain has already decreased 35-40 percent sumo fly overnight. Dr Reed is 74 years old and is one of the most experienced SRS doctors in this part of the country. He takes Medicare which of course I didn't have only Medicaid. No good. I plopped down $16500. Cash on his desked and begged for any discount. No go:-( However the same surgery at the University of Miami Sylvester Center is 23k. Puerto in Coral Gables 25k. So maybe a deal. Dr Reed has done everything promised so far. He wants to cycle in 2 weeks. I am thing 2 1/2-3 due to the pain. He told me it would hurt but said he would give me a narcotics shot. Hmmm junkie and narcotics shot? Really don't want it but I asked about a local and no go for various reasons involving the implant. The reason I went with Titan was purely about the warranty. I don't have fancy insurance and 10 year full replacement sounded way better than the 20% a year on the LGX and then you pay full price after the 6th year. No thanks. Plus the bio flex seemed way stronger than the LGX and if the are so great then why the crappy warranty? These corporations know how long these things last. They use every mathematical equation on earth to figure these warrantes. Plus my gf has Mentor boobs so we we be one happy family. Off to Chiang Mai to live out my dreams with my beautiful Thai 29 year old princess. Don't believe the bad press these Thai girls get. They put our spoiled rotten US girls to shame. 40 year olds here won't give me the time of day and I have hair and a flat stomach! Lol. Best of luck to the hammer next month and all the rest. Peace out:-)

This is to my Titan brother Dave: Backpage.com may be an option to test out the Titan. It seems a shame to go through all the you're not to use the damn thing after so many years. Just a thought Dave. Life is very short my brother and we have already lived most of it.

I took a look at backpage.com and I'm afraid I don't get it - maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see anything there related to an implant. In any case, since my libido is gone, I have no desire to use it anyway. My point in posting was just to emphasize that men who need an implant should get it as soon as possible. The passage of time does nothing to improve things

ShopMan,

I am using a VED once a day and something called the Phallosan Forte for a minimum of 12 hours a day. It's a pain in the ass!!! But it's working, so there's that. Shipping on it takes like a month...so if you don't already have one I doubt you will have time. That said, the VED at twice a day for 10 minutes each is supposed to do wonders ;)

dg_moore,

It is my belief that Purrboat is suggesting a hired female companion using Backpage.

Purrboat,

Thanks for sharing your experience thus far. I figure in a year, even if this is the most excruciating pain ever, I will hardly remember anything beyond the fact that I went through it. It will be interesting to see the difference between a scrotal approach and an infrapubic approach and associated pain levels. Also, be careful with those Tramadol. Due to the SNRI effect they can be harder to wean from than normal opiates. Definitely stay under 8 a day so you don't risk seizure as well. Best of luck with Chiang Mai as well ;)

Dave !! Lol. I guess in my ignorance I just assumed everyone knew what backpage was about! Sorry Dave go to the adult section, spend a few hundred or more and spend a few hours with a hot 20 something. Just verify her photo by FaceTime or similar. Plent of Hot body rubs etc etc on Backpage. You have very little to lose at this point the way it sounds. Let us know what you decide.

Wow! I guess we're all wired differently - there was never a time in my life when I would have even considered intimacy with a stranger. Sorry, that's just not for me.

Well Dave the choice is yours of course but at 71 who know maybe your wife might support the idea unless you guys are the religious type. In either case I wish there was more I could do to help. My girlfriend is 29 and that was a big part of my reasoning for my decision. Plus I have put so many chemicals in my body over the years I hated taking the pills that left me with a crippling migraine not to mention cancer. The shots have their own drawbacks. I hope you find sex again. Just try to think of the Crosby Stills and Nash song from the 60's: " Love The One Your With".
It was just a thought no disrespect intended:-)
