Which one is best: Cut above my penis or a scrotal cut?

Hi guys,

I'm finally scheduled for my implant surgery on 01/12/2015. I'll be getting a coloplast titan.
Here's my question to you guys: My doc said he is used to do the incision with a small cut above the penis but, for me, he suggested a scrotal cut as that would allow him to cut off the "turkey neck" which connects my scrotum to my penis and would give the penis more length.
I just wanted to know from your experiences which method is best and would give me a lower infection risk and a faster recovery?
I'm just scared that the scrotal cut would give me a slower recovery and maybe a higher infection risk..

Some suggest that the infrapubic incision heals more easily and might be somewhat less prone to infection, but infection rates are very low in any case, and I've never head of anybody who has had both done and would be in a position to opine firsthand as to which is "better." Since your surgeon has a rationale for the scrotal approach, I'd opt for that if it were up to me - but it's not, it's up to you.

I requested the scrotal approach. I didn't want a scar that would be visible. You don't have to cut through the fat pad and muscle tissue as with the pubic approach. My scrotal scar is vertical, and can't be seen. Best of luck to you. Jere

Scrotal incision. Less chance of nerve damage. Day 10 post op Titan. Still painful but better each day. Yesterday stopped the Tramodol. Still need Xanax to sleep. The pump is still almost untouchable. Getting 2-3% better each day. This shit hurts dude. Don't trust the Dr to give you enough or the right pain meds. Unless he has an implant he has no clue.

The scrotal Incision worked a treat for me and my Dr was able to remove the webbing from under my penis which gives me a full length dick that is not shortened by the amount of skin that was connected 2/3rds up my penis and caused a shrinkage when flaccid but now I have a longer looking member that can penitrate to the base of the shaft. For me having this done was a real bonus that I had not thought possible until my Dr explained that he could do the two at the same time at no extra charge, very happy with the job and the concealed scar.

Have to ditto Zac. I had the scrotal cut along with the trim, a sort of "two-fer," and I'm glad. Still too early for me to test drive, but the scrotal approach worked for me.

Plus, my lower abdomen got a lot of holes when they performed a robotic prostatectomy 3 years ago. S maybe that was another good reason for the scrotal approach, in my case.

I have actually had both.... Scrotal from the doctor who botched my first implant and infrapubic from Dr. Perito who "fixed"me. My recovery from the infrapubic was much less painful and quicker to heal. This was probably more due to the surgeons skill than the incision location.

Could you share some details on what got you to where you are today?

Like:

1. Who was the first doctor?
2. How did he botch the first implant.
3. What type implant did you have the first time.
4. What was involved with the fix?
5. Did you get a second implant with Perito or was it just a matter of adjustment to the first?

I am asking because the last 5 months have been hell for me. My first inflatable implant got infected and had to have it removed after 3 weeks and surgeon replaced it with semi-rigid. Had really bad pain for about 3 months and now after another month it is just very uncomfortable.

In another month or so I am considering going back to have the semi-rigid removed and try an LGX inflatable. My doctor has been Kramer who has a large successful following but so far, not for me. Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated.

1. first doctor was a urologist in Plantation Florida
2. got a "cross"?? - one tube crossed over an inch or so from my belly causing it to bend severely to the left. release valves were very difficult to access and about 9 months after the implant I lost all access to the release valves. Installed a much larger implant than my "little dick" deserved. I had SEVERE pain for months.
3. First implant was a Titan OTR. It functioned properly but was poorly installed.
4. "Fix" was a new Titan OTR, properly sized and properly installed. VERY little pain (better surgeon).
5. Dr. Perito installed my second implant. It was a whole new device.

So much pain and disappointment the first time. Nothing but smiles the second time!

I've said it before. Dr. Perito is MY HERO!!!

Most likely I'm going with my doctor's suggestion and choose the scrotal cut along with the trim.
Without everyone's encouragement, experience & knowledge I'm sure I'd be having panic attacks right now!
All I can say is I cannot wait for Jan 12.
