I had an initial pump up in the doctors office Tuesday. It hurt like a mother. He said to wait a few days before trying it on my own. I tried briefly last night and the bulb is easily accessed but is kind of like trying to squeeze air out of a golf ball - the bulb is very hard. I am trying tonight in the tub and while using a wash cloth, that someone here suggested. The bulb on the key chain is not quite as rigid. I know there is no malfunction but I am surprised the implant bulb is so hard. I don't remember reading that here.
So, does the anatomy get used to the pain from squeezing this thing and does it get easier over time? Does the pump loosen up from repeated use? Any other suggestions to get thru this? I could take some pain pills or some Aleve or drink a six pack if that would help. I think I am close but this is a little exasperating. I'd like to know from others if this is typical. I should mention I am not a weak man, so that is not my issue.
Thanks a lot guys!
Pump up questions
Re: Pump up questions
JamesG,
At first the bulb seams extremely hard, but it will quickly become easier. The hot bath is a good idea to kind of loosen things up. In time you will get use to all your new hardware, and won’t really notice it much.
For me, controlling the pump by gripping the tubes and bringing the bulb toward the outside skin helps. In that way, the bulb is easier to squeeze without it slipping away. It can be a bit startling, when the bulb slips out between your fingers.
Good Luck, Happy pumping!

Had the same problem when I started. Try using both hands with thumb and forefingers on top of each other, and pray the sucker won't slip out. There is a lot of juice in that bulb.
You never can swear and squeeze enough and don't worry about bruising now. You'll see it will get easier as you pump. Good luck!

Re: Pump up questions
It hurt really bad when my doc pumped me during the first weeks after surgery. But as the skin of the scrotum healed up it reached a point that there is no pain during pumping. When you reach that point varies but most guys seem to get there after 2 or 3 months. For me the left side of my scrotum was much more sensitive than the right side so if I slid the pump over to the right side before pumping it was more comfortable.
