OUCH!

Postby Daniel » Thu Nov 05, 2009 5:56 pm

I tried the MUSE penile suppository this week, and I will not be doing that again. I had my daVinci surgery on October 19th, the catheter out a week later, and, following my teams directions with the post surgery prescriptions, started the Cialis, followed and hour later with the MUSE this week. I had read that there could be some burning sensation with a few guys using this product, but that SO under stated the results. I would have to say that the MUSE was by far the most painful thing about this entire prostate cancer process. I did not take the pain meds they sent home with me after the surgery, until I used that MUSE. And to top off the whole painful experience, I didn't have any physical response to the two meds (other than the pain!). I'm hoping that things start waking up down there, but it's not going to be with alprostadil that's for sure!

Dan,

I have to say that I had a very similar experience. After paying $200 out of my own pocket to fill the prescription, I tried it about a week after I had my catheter removed. I inserted the little suppository (not a difficult task), rubbed my penis between may hands for a few minutes as directed, and then the pain started. My penis got swollen (not erect) and the pain radiated to my scrotum, butt, and down my right leg. I rolled up on my bed in the fetal position for three hours before it started to ware off (and that was with a bag of ice between my legs). I tried this while I was home alone, but if my wife was there I'm confident she would have called 911.

Needless to say, I threw the remaining $200 investment into the garbage.

I had exactly the same issue with MUSE. What a waste of $200. I tried it 2 times and that is it. Never again. I have moved on the Caverject.

Muse

I am past the oral meds, the injections and have a new implant, but the oral meds worked great for a time! after my prostatectomy i started the injections and was well pleased, but not without some growing pains, education and practice, but i have to be honest here! Muse is absolute junk i have rarely heard of anyone having any success how can they keep this on the market is beyond me it's just crap. I feel for the guy who had to pay out of pocket. with so many people complaining about this product one would think that a challenge would be made and some investigation would be in order? along with giving us false hope which is just cruel it's costing us, the insurance companies and others for a product that simply does not deliver. We are all vulnerable already and are seeking answers to our battle with e.d on any level someone should be accountable although i sincerly hope that i'm not overstating this issue i felt it necessary to concur with the general concensus. I have said before and will mention again that i am grateful for this site that has answered so many questions for me and feel some responsibility to weigh in on this. I appreciate the "pay it forward" policy on this blog. lakeerie
