Can anyone explain to me the difference between AMS 700 LGX cylinders AMS 700 CX cylinders? I have seen each mentioned on this forum but I am a little at a loss as to the purpose of each of these cylinders.
Thanks. I think I remember my URO say he would most likely us a AMS 700 LGX. Is this good?

Re: AMS differences
Essentially it's the way the fibers are constructed. The CX has unidirectional stretching ability, namely width increase or Circumferential eXpansion=CX.
The LGX has bi-directional stretching ability. Namely, Length and Girth eXpansion=LGX
You will get an 18% increase in length over time with proper cycling on length with the LGX. The advantage is a more natural flaccid state. You will also get an approximate girth expansion of the cylinders of about 50% from their flaccid state. Or 12 mm deflated, and 18 mm inflated. The actual increase of the girth of the penis being dictated by your anatomy and willingness to cycle daily for as long as you can to at least a year out. No pain no gain.
The CX just doesn't have the length expansion. It does have better axial rigidity though, so there is that. Now having an LGX....sucker is ROCK hard at 60%....I mean DAMN!!!
CX tends to be for bigger guys, same as the Titan, which has a diameter that is greater than the CX in studies. Bigger cocks tend to require Titans, as they go up to 28 cm in length if memory serves. The max for the CX is 24 cm. you can use Rear Tip Exenders or RTEs, but the more you use he more wobbly the implant becomes due to the lack of inflation of RTEs. Ideally each implant would have no RTEs, but this ain't an ideal world. RTEs 3 cm or less have no significant clinical difference in stability, and allow for better customization of the fly.
AMS have an antibiotic coating that Titans don't have, reducing the infection rate. Titans are more durable and last longer. Always trade offs.

Re: AMS differences
So, if I am reading you right the LGX is the way I might want to go given my loss of length over the years. (I need all the help I can get) As far as "recycling" for an extended time I don't see that as a problem. I'll probably be playing with it like a kid at Christmas any way. lol
If my assesment is correct based on your reply I'm going to drop my URO a note (email) tomorrow suggesting the LGX. He, on the other hand, may have other ideas. I do know that he plans on using the AMS. Just don't remember him saying which one.

Re: AMS differences
If you're wanting to lengthen and have had some atrophy, the LGX is typically the way to go.
I was originally going to get the CX but yesterday during surgery he changed his mind. Trust your surgeon's expertise. They have so much experience it's best to let them do their job, but state your opinion too.
I was a bit disappointed at first because the CX is stronger...yeah, the LGX is ROCK hard. Like railroad spike hard. I could hammer a damn nail with it. So whichever you end up with, you'll be happy! The most important thing to do is to pick a good surgeon.

Well yes and no. I wish I could say I was apart of that "bigger guy" category, but really... uh, not so. What I do have is massive amounts of scar tissue in the shaft post 2 TURP surgeries and one seriously botch implant surgery.
My doc picked the CX because there just isn't that much stretch left in my penis, so I get girth, but no real length increase with my implant.
51, San Francisco
Diabetic: used pills & injections.
2 TURP surgeries caused Peyronie's. 1st implant lost to infection, 2nd one is about 5 years old. But "floppy head" due to all the scar tissue, couldn't get tips all the way up.

Gregorbehr,
Lol, must have been the drugs. You are correct. Scar tissue or Peyronie's disease is also an indication for the CX and titan. Thank you for pointing that out. That is where the axial rigidity also comes in handy. BTW, sorry you had to go through all that. You've got to be a man and a half to go through all that!!

Re: AMS differences
Could somebody help: what is a difference between LGX 18cm + 2cm Rear Tip Extender (RTE) and 21cm with 3cm RTE (18+3)? It looks as same size? Thanks
Re: AMS differences
I have a LGX 18cm + 3cm RTI , I would say the difference of that and the 18cm + 2cm RTI is just 1cm less but actual length would be the same. I definetely don't have any floppiness.
Shopman,
If you have lost length, you should be using a pump to help gain some back before getting an implant. My implant is so hard that at first my wife complained that it was too hard.
