How long to keep trying?

Postby Epsilon » Fri Jan 23, 2015 5:04 pm

After pills stopped working (12 years) turned to injections but neither of these prescriptions at 60 units worked: (30Mg Papaverine - 1 Mg Phentol - 10 Mcg Prostoglandin) // (30 Mg Papaverine - 1 Mg Phentol - 20 Mcg Prostoglandin). Is it too soon to quit experimenting or time to throw in the towel?

Epsilon,

Throw the towel in don't waste another day. I wasted a whole year with the injections and taking pills with the injections nothing work. Start pumping up with your VED to keep your length because having ED shrinks your penis. Make your appointment with your urologists. I was scared as HELL to do it but if you want to have sex again it is the only way. Read the BLOGS, some guys are enjoying themselves but do your research on the doctor who is doing your surgery.

Don't give up just yet. Keep working with your urologist on your dosage. I was once at 50 units and still couldn't achieve a good erection. I got the uro to strengthen the dosage, and I went to 60, 70, 80, 90 units on the new script. Still nothing.

Then, at 100 units (yes, 100) -- magic. Now, at 100 units my erections are porn-star quality, every time.

My doc has me on a what is still a rather weak formula, but the positive is that I am getting fantastic erections and I am not worried about priapism because of the modest strength of the medication. The downside is that I am spending much more per injection than a lot of guys who may only need as little as 10 units.

Keep working with your urologist until an implant is your only option.
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

Cigar..have you had your prostate removed as I have? I tried 80 units and got a 97-98%. Tried 85 units and got 75% erection.I am 75 yrs old, and will be tying 100! units next time this coming week. May have to ask for a stronger prescription next time. I seems after reading the comments on here that some/most have their prostates.

Epsilon, I agree with lewisbl - don't waste any more time. I fooled around with injections and VED for over 5 (five) years with no success before I got my implant. I had suffered a stroke that was gradually killing my libido, and ironically by the time I had healed from the surgery my libido was completely and Irreparably gone. My wife had also lost all interest during the years of fumbling around with ED and after menopause. We tried the implant once for old times' sake, but my wife asked me to stop after a few seconds (not because of discomfort but because she just didn't want to be doing it, and truth to tell I didn't either).

We have now been asexual for 7 years and we're comfortable with that, but we have certainly missed out due to my failure to proceed earlier. If I'd gotten the implant when I needed it we could have had several more years of intimacy. Time is not your friend - go for it now!

I have been about 2 years post RP, and I just got laid without an injection the other day. I was starting to believe it was all over without an injection, and there I was getting some! so never give up hope.

It DID require a lot of rubbing, with us both standing up, before it was ready to perform. I am beginning to believe that standing up during foreplay helps the blood flow into the penis just enough to push it over the edge into being hard enough for penetration

Moonman33: I have not had my prostate removed -- and I am at 100 units. Think of the units is just a number. With your doctor's approval, take as much as you need to get the desired results. My formula is weak, and my doctor agrees. The good thing with that is that I don't stand much risk of ending up in the hospital with an erection of more than 4 hours. The bad thing is I am paying a lot more per shot than others here because of all the units I am taking.

Eventually I am going to talk with my doctor about a stronger dosage.
