This procedure could increase the likelihood of infection which could then result in another surgery to remove the current implant and a second surgery to put a new implant in.

I could take that chance or wait 8-10 weeks for my body to reabsorb the fluid in my scrotum. After my 3rd pain med adjusted in a week my pain level is tolerable. I'm choosing to wait. Once the swelling is down I can activate the pump.
Not exactly the post surgery recovery I expected, but it is what it is. There's no skilled Urologist who can do anything other than tell me that waiting 8-10 weeks is the safest option. That's why I decided against a consult.

I hope things are going better for you today, are the frozen peas helping?

I have an ice pad which I prefer to use over frozen peas. Ice does feel good, but seems to have little or no impact in reducing swelling. After 1.5 weeks at home I can say there has been no reduction in swelling or pain. Narcotic pain meds every four hours is permitting me to take walks and get out of the house.
Today I need to get a re-fill and I'll see how that process goes

Hi RR. Terribly sorry you are having such a rough time of it. Some things that helped me get thru the post op hurts about 8 months ago: Try hard not to squeeze your equip at any time. When I got our of bed, I would lift my equip with one hand, so as to not drag it on the bed as I got up. Same for sitting down - hold it up with one hand. Do the same for getting up. Also, I applied a cold pack for 10 mins, and alternated with warm pack. This helped relieve my pain. I wore very loose clothing, so as, not to mash my equip. Use boxer shorts with plenty of room. Don't let anything sit on your lap - children, dogs, cats, etc. Absolutely no lifting of anything over a few pounds. When in bed, place a large pillow beneath your knees. If you sleep on you side, place between knees. Also, I carried packets of alcohol pads with me, and when I urinated, I would use a fresh one to clean my dick. Before bed, I would use an alcohol pad to gently clean all my equip.

You might get some strange looks from other folks, but I could easily disregard that. These things helped me. I was activated at 4 weeks, and had no pain, even on my first intercourse event, and never looked back.

Best of Luck to You,

God Bless,

Charlie

Charlie,
Based on the tips you provided you experienced a very sore scrotum as well. At this point I'm about the size of a softball. It's very tender and sends messages of pain continually. Taking narcotic medication around the clock keeps me at a level 4-5 which means I can walk around a bit. Do some things. Take a short walk, etc. If I make a mistake, sit wrong, or sit on something hard, or somehow hurt myself getting up my pain will briefly hit 7-8. At that point, the only thing I will do is sit on a recliner chair with an ice pack.

1.5 weeks after surgery there has been no reduction in pain or swelling. I'm getting weary of taking narcotics around the clock, but this could be my life for another 2-6 weeks. My Urologist didn't think I'd be anywhere near the right size at 6 weeks to activate the pump. I've gotten over the disappointment, right now I simply wish the constant pain would go away. It won't, so I need to get use to living with some degree of pain all through my waking hours.

It's reassuring to hear from men who've gone through this who say wait until you get to the other side of this journey when your sex life is restored. Thanks for the reminder!

Sorry to hear you are having so much pain. It was awful for me the first three days, but subsided quickly. I can't imagine what you are going through. I only want to suggest what some others have - if you have to get a re-do, it would likely be well worth it to travel a bit to one of the high volume guys. Hope you feel better soon!

There's no need for a redo. I'm not infected. I believe the implant will work just fine. Since I didn't have a drain and more internal bleeding than my Surgeon realized, all that fluid settled into my scrotm, now the size of a softball. Even with scrotal support it HURTS. It could take a minimum of 5 weeks for this fluid to be reabsorbed. Until then a recliner, an. Ice pack and a sleep number bed are my best friends
