Frozen TriMix effect

Postby newbie1 » Thu Jan 08, 2015 10:40 pm

Hi: Has anyone noticed frozen TriMix (frozen in pre-drawn syringes for about 3 weeks and then thawed just before using) losing effect? It happened so far 3 out of 8 syringes with absolutely no effect. The medication is about 1 and a half old since compounded from pharmacy.

nb,

Recently I noticed that my vial of BiMix which had only been in a cold (not frozen) state had precipitated out a cloud of crystals (assuming it was the PAP). I had not noticed if this has happened in syringes when I made Trimix and left the syringes in cold fridge -- they did not lose any potency so I guess not.

But if it had frozen like yours, it maybe really precipitated out and even after thawing might not all dissolve again. No one (except you) has reported a frozen-thawed syringe losing all potency tho..

You will have to look at the syringe really really closely after thawing - bright lights -- holding against various contrasting backgrounds. But now you know what to look for.

Report back on your findings...

I do check the syringes before injection for cloudines and crystals or any other visible abnormailities and there were nothing abnormal before injection. Since then I got a new vial and did the same thing (pre-filled syringes, froze them, thawed for about 1/2 hour and inject) and it worked perfectly so far for the first syringe.
I am going to try some more of the previous batch and see if that happens again or not. But I have lost confidence in using that batch so I will just try them when I am not going to be needing them for action.

I, for one, have simply followed my urologists suggestions: DO NOT FREEZE........ KEEP REFRIGERATED....

My prescriptions have always (for nearly 4 years) out-lasted their 'expiration date', and when in that period, I discovered that an increase of dosage would still work.

But you should pick your own plan of injecting.

My Trimix comes frozen in 1 ml vials with instructions to keep frozen until ready to use. No issues with effectiveness even 6 months later.

May I inquire where you get your Trimix frozen ???
If I decide to continue to try, this method seems best for me.
Any idea of cost for 5 ml with syringes and shipping ???
Appreciate your assistance.

If you sift through the posts on this board you can find guys whose urologists say never freeze the stuff and others whose urologists recommend freezing. Just as you can find guys whose urologists say not to shoot up more than once a week and others who say once every 24 hrs is okay.

I keep my 5 ml vial frozen and thaw it once a week to load the three or four needles I'll use that week. I keep them refrigerated but not frozen. Works for me.
